“Mind if I join you?”

“Not at all . . . though you’re a bit late. A lot of dancers have left.”

He flashed that sexy grin again. There was a shimmer of something, not quite a jackhammer of lust in my nether regions but something that made me hopeful.

“In Argentina, the party would just be getting started.”

I sighed wistfully. “So I’ve heard. Have you been?”

“Many times.”

“And is it as glorious as they say?”

“Just as delicious as their dulce de leche. I used to go home alone after dancing all night and eat it straight from the jar. Too bad I had nobody to share it with.”

I bit my lip. Was he flirting?

“Can I buy you a drink?”

I nodded. “Peach schnapps and cranberry, please.”

“Good combo.” He turned to the bartender, ordering himself a whiskey sour. “But where are my manners?” He held out his hand. “I’m Kadin, but friends call me Kade.”

“Amira.”

“And why is a gorgeous woman like you sitting alone? You should be dancing.”

Definitely flirting. “I’m taking a break. Been a big weekend. My feet don’t like me very much.”

“Ah, there’s nothing like dancing to avoid your problems in life.”

I blinked, taken aback.

“Am I that obvious?”

“No. I’m just that good.”

I laughed.

“You have a nice laugh. Has anyone ever told you that before?”

“Perhaps,” I replied.

One man had. On a night of seduction not so long ago.

Cut it out, Amira. Focus on the hottie flirting with you. Now that he was closer, I noticed the green of his eyes was flecked with brown. He was older, maybe had a decade or so on me, but had a youthful energy about him. If I was going to pick my next lover, I wanted a man who knew what he was doing.

“So, what brings you here so late?”

Kade scanned the room. “It’s actually my first night back after a very long break.”

I lifted my drink, waiting. “Then cheers to your return.”

I sipped, taking another for good measure. I didn’t need alcohol to be confident in any situation, but this man made me nervous. There was something about him that left me . . . What?

I glanced up and gasped. Zane flew past, dancing with Kiki. But the expression on his face as he locked eyes on Kade was murderous.

Was Zane jealous?
