“Yeah, we can definitely talk, but the dancing is going to be left for you, pal.” I laugh.
“We’ll see.” He teases just as the line cuts out.
This conversation is nothing like what I had anticipated having. It’s nice…easy. There isn’t an attempt to keep the flow going. I feel remarkably more comfortable than I have all morning. Whoever you are, Mr. Room 9, you aren’t going to get rid of me so easily. I may even be persuaded to dance.
Chapter 8
Theo
Now this…This is what I call a party. The music is loud, the other guests are all laughing, dancing—or attempting to I should say. There’s a limbo line with two guys on each side trying to coax others into joining in. I have been sufficiently plied with yet more fruity cocktails courtesy of the waitresses walking around in floral print skirts and flower crowns.
It’s pretty amazing. And there’s an open DJ! I mean, come on. Whatever songs I want to request and awesome vibes. This meeting with Room 6 is going to be freaking amazing. I know it. In the wise words of Chicken Joe via Surf’s Up, “I can feel it in my nuggets.”
Knowing that Room Six is Mina is just the cherry on top of this amazing ass sundae. Does she know it’s me she is meeting? Hell no, but the conversation we had earlier in complete anonymity seemed to open her up to the idea of actually making connections here. It’s just my luck that I happen to be the one to have given her some hope in context of this week not being a total flop.
Fingers crossed she doesn’t just shut me out when she realizes it’s me she spoke with, but I gotta feeling. Like I said. The nuggets.
Jesus Christ. There are so many people here. Is that a fucking fire breather?
My head snaps in her direction immediately. I’m speechless. Mina is so beautiful. Heart…uh…beatingly so. Yeah. Her shoulder length hair has been curled and the green tips almost seem to glow in the warm light of the torches she passes. I have no idea what the hell kind of dress thing she’s wearing but it’s doing its damn job making it hard to keep my mouth closed. It’s hanging off her freckled shoulders, tight around her chest, giving everyone an eyeful of her tits, and I can’t frankly blame them for not looking away. The soft pale flesh of her cleavage is only a taste with the black silk-like fabric draping down her curves, and the cute rolls of her stomach, brushing the sand as she walks. She has on sandals that lace up to her knees. I’m only able to see them because of the slits on both sides of the dress that reach the crease of her thigh meeting her hip.
What I would fucking give to sink my teeth into that spot on her hip.
Mina spots me at the bar and beelines, trying and failing to navigate the large crowd. Her face pinched into a scowl that only wrinkles up her cute little nose. I can’t help but smile, but when she sees it she just narrows her eyes.
“What are you smiling about?” She grumbles.
“Oh, nothing. Just how cute and amazing you are,” I say smiling wider.
She harrumphs leaning over the bar to order a drink. When she turns, she lifts a dark brow at me, “You just can’t help yourself can you?”
“Nope,” I reply, popping the ‘p’. “When I’m presented with a magnificent view I kind of have to look right?”
Mina snorts, grabbing the glass of wine the bartender sat in front of her. “Magnificent, huh?” She asks, taking a long drink, licking her lips.
Fuck. Do it again.
Her lips are painted a deep red. My fingers itch to trace the outline of her bottom lip, just to see if they’re as soft as they look. My mouth waters to nip at them, just to see if her blood is the same crimson hue.
“I see my extra time getting ready has paid off. Think I’m good enough to eat?” She teases.
My eyes snap to hers, searching, but she doesn’t look phased. She still wears the joking smile on her lips.
“Yeah. You could definitely say that. Are you getting all fancy for someone else then? Seeing as my advances have been for nothing,” I sigh dramatically, throwing my hand to my forehead in a mock faint.
A pinkish tint lifts to her cheeks, making her glow. “Maybe I had some luck. The only acceptable interaction I have had all fucking week,” she mutters. “Well, aside from you, but then again I only seem to fall at your feet, and that hasn’t been pleasant at all,” she mocks with a faux glare.
“Oh, Mina, how you wound me with your words.”
She just smirks, eyes darting over the crowd. I know she’s looking for me, but I’m having too much fun.
“So who are you looking for?” I question taking a sip of my drink.
Mmm, cherries.
She blanches, and scowls again. “I don’t actually know.”
I tried to contain it, but I couldn’t help myself. I snorted, covering it with a slight cough. “So, you don’t know. What about their name?”
