“You like it?”

“It’s…” Boyfriendly. Extremely freaking boyfriendly. “Very damning. You should change it before my mom sees.”

“She won’t see.”

Before I give it back, my fingertips brush the solo lens on the back, confirming my suspicions. Even if he bought a model from the last couple years, it’d have more than one camera lens. Why did he say he upgraded if he didn’t?

“I Was Made For Lovin’ You” by YUNGBLUD starts playing, but not from the beginning, from somewhere in the middle. He was listening to this?

Khaos is quick to change the song.

O-kay.

“MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT” by Loveless comes on next, making me snicker.

After a headshake, Khaos mutters, “Fucking recommendations.”

“What’s your playlist called? I want to look it up.”

“It’s not mine,” is said so seriously, I can’t help but laugh again. “I don’t listen to that pussy shit.”

“Where’d you pick up the toxic masculinity from? It couldn’t be from Graham. He’s the definition of healthy masculinity.” Excluding that weird ogle back at the house.

“What?” Khaos bursts, his attention oscillating between me and the road.

“You like pussy, right?”

“Yours.”

I roll my eyes. Before he even had mine, he said he liked pussy.

“Well, you’re always putting things down as ‘pussy’ but how can that be a bad thing if you like pussy so much?”

“That’s just the common belief.”

“Why does it have to be your belief?”

“It…” His eyebrows sink as he stares ahead, swallowing the rest of his argument. Hopefully because he’s realizing he doesn’t have one.

“Like, why can’t you listen to emotional songs? I don’t see how that makes you ‘less than’ anything, especially a man.”

“I don’t…” He shakes his head. “I don’t know. It was just drilled into me my entire life. The whole ‘be a man’ thing.”

“Yeah,” I say sadly, already knowing that’s how it is for a lot of people.

A tap to his phone, he says, “But I do have the free version and it does recommend all kinds of random shit to me.”

Random. Sure.

“Why didn’t you say anything? I can add you under mine.”

“You can?”

Pulling out my phone, I nod.

“Wait.”

I stop mid-process of adding another name under my account.
