“Lisann can,” Tina adds unhelpfully.
“Then you need to be ready.”
“To do what? I can’t fight either.”
“You have sisters. And a brother. You should know how to fight.”
“I don’t.”
“It’s true. She doesn’t.”
I send Dex an accusatory scowl. “You didn’t teach your sister how to fight?”
“You didn’t teach yours?” he fires back defensively.
Turning my attention back to Kota, I mutter, “She’s not my sister.”
Guy’s so focused on ranting at me, he hasn’t noticed Kota yet, but she’s coming. Full steam fucking ahead, she’s coming.
Fuck. Why don’t these girls know how to defend themselves?
“If Lisann hurts her, I’m gonna want to retaliate.”
“And you won’t be able to,” Dex points out, knowing that about me as well as he knows it about himself.
“Exactly.”
There’s a giant sigh from the back before Tina sits forward.
“Fine. I’ll jump in if I have to. But not to fight, just to separate.”
“It’s something,” I tell her.
“It’s about to be entertaining, is what it is.”
“It would be more entertaining if we had sound.”
Dex and I crack our windows.
“—wrong?” Kota’s asking Guy.
He spins around to face her. “Your fucking degenerate of a brother just hit my car!”
Kota looks at me, where the cars are still touching, then Guy. “I’m sure it was an accident.”
Another round of laughter fills my cab. If it was an accident, I’d be outside right now, owning up to it. Or at least I would if it was anyone else’s car. Since it’s Guy’s, he can eat shit.
“Man, everyone’s going to think I did a piss-poor job teaching you how to drive,” Dex says.
Too busy watching Kota like a hawk, I don’t respond.
“Get him out here!”
He needs to lower his goddamn voice when he’s talking to Kota.
I’m not the only one that thinks so because Dex asks, “Why are men such trash?”
Tina scoffs. “You’re not excluded from that, you know?”
