My friend grips my shoulder, telling me in a tone too loud to be so close to my face, “While I’m out here trying to get to second base, my sister’s having a threesome.”
Tina rubs it in, teasing, “The more, the merrier.”
That gets another groan from Dex but a chuckle from me. At least it wasn’t another nautical quote.
“Call me Santa Claus, I’m about to be so merry.”
All right. Now she’s overdoing it.
Especially when she adds a little, “Ho, ho, ho.”
But since we’re on the topic…
“To be clear, you’re talking about a two-man?”
Dex’s forehead drops right onto my shoulder.
Tina doesn’t correct me, but she does shrug, saying, “Men don’t have to be involved.”
Because she knows what a two-man is and it’s not a double date.
Dex lifts his head to ask, dead serious, “What about Seymour? Does he get involved?”
Waving off her brother, Tina says, “Seymour just hovers in the corner and watches.”
“You guys are fucking with me about the ghost, right?”
Neither answers me. Or looks at me.
What the fuck?
Sea Haven has more secrets than I thought.
Nonplayers are beckoned over to the shack while the Prey and Hunters splinter off into their separate sections of the beach. While there are only four males choosing to be Prey, even less females are Hunters.
“My sister’s off-limits to all you jerkoffs,” Dex announces, earning himself a glare from said sister.
“Did you have to call everyone jerkoffs?” I ask him as we approach the waterline along with all the other Hunters. I’m not too worried about us being severely outnumbered right now. It’s the idea of someone getting brave next to water I don’t like. I may be the best fighter on this beach but I’m not the greatest swimmer.
“They’re lucky that’s all I called them. Jerkoffs!” he repeats, louder, just in case anyone missed it the first time.
I shake my head. Guaranteed I’m throwing hands before the night is over.
“None of them deserve Tina, not even for seven minutes.”
“You’re a good brother,” I tell him.
Staring out at the lights on the other side of the Sound, I rock back on my heels.
“So are you.”
“The fuck I am.” I rotate my head toward him to see if he’s joking and end up catching sight of Guy several bodies down. He’s not facing forward either. He’s watching the Prey before the second horn. If there was any doubt he’d get Kota before, it’s gone now. Of course his ass would cheat.
Dex follows my gaze, then nods while turning toward the water again.
“You hate Guy just because he’s dating your sister. That’s good.”
“That’s an incredibly low bar for what makes someone a good brother,” I murmur, distracted as I take in the line. All of the Rolexes are here, as well as both necklaces. That leaves the bracelet unaccounted for.
