“To wrap my legs around your neck—”

“Fuck yes.”

“—and squeeze until you stop breathing.”

Khaos is full-on smiling now. “Promise?”

Of course he took that in the most sexual way possible.

“No. Get off.”

“Keep talking dirty to me and I will. I’m already halfway there.”

“Only you would find a death threat arousing.”

“Dying with my face buried in your cunt sounds amazing.”

“I wasn’t—” I growl. That is not what I threatened.

“I can help you relax.”

“Aren’t you supposed to be trying to break me?” I arch an eyebrow at him.

His chuckle dances between us, teasing and dangerous. I’m playing with fire and not the kind that chars a match. The kind that razes an entire forest.

“Is that what you want, Stepsis?”

How the hell am I supposed to know what I want? Between Guy and my mom always telling me my next move, I don’t get the chance to even consider my own wants.

“I want—”

My phone’s alarm goes off but it takes me a second to realize what it’s for.

“Oh!” I all but shove Khaos off me to scramble over to it.

“What the fuck’s your problem now?”

“I have to go.”

“Guy calls, you go running.” It’s practically a snarl.

“Not really,” I say without looking back at him, barely restraining myself from breaking into an actual run out of the gym. Oh my God, what if it burns?

Footsteps pound up the stairs behind me.

“You got another motherfucker sniffing around you?”

“Soo many.”

The moment I reach the top, Khaos pulls me to a stop.

“What?”

That frown from before returns, this time without me laying a finger on him.

“Who is he?”

“Oh my God, no one. I was being sarcastic.”
