Something is happening. Something important. I can feel it.

“Stay,” Zaire whispers and nips at my T-shirt.

I shiver but clamp my mouth shut so I don’t make any promises.

He tilts his head back so we’re staring at each other, and he looks…soft. He’s an open book, completely vulnerable. Everything I dreamed of, in him. Zaire is the kind of alpha who makes a pack a home.

Just not with me.

“Stay,” my alpha begs, pleads again.

I can’t speak because if I do, I’ll hurt him, and the last thing I want to do is hurt this alpha.

The door slams open.

“There is a seagull in the dining room with a magpie, and your freaking dog is just sitting there watching this sideshow like it's entertainment,” Jace says flatly. “Clint is losing his mind.”

“You are an officer of the law, Jace. Deal with it,” Zaire says.

“No. I’m not working right now. I won’t. I refuse. You deal with it. It’s your dog and your omega’s house.”

“Our omega, and Clint’s home.”

“Nope, he pretty much gave it to Felix and Khione, but I am tied up at the moment trying to stop Clint and Grandpa from adding a pool to the house.”

There’s a heavy beat of silence.

“A pool?” Zaire asks in his growly voice.

“Yes.”

Zaire moves quickly and deposits me on the couch beside Spectre.

“I love this house,” Grandma Sol says happily.

“Our house is better,” Grandpa growls. “We have location. This is all just flash.”

A magpie calls. I whip my head around to find it running from under the armchair into the kitchen, a set of keys in its beak. I kneel and watch with a growing smile. I love this town.

“There’s a magpie in the house,” I tell everyone with a high-pitched giggle when it darts back the other way.

“Goes with the damn seagulls,” Jace hisses.

I follow his gaze and find a seagull perched on the bench. Clint is leaning away from it, keeping Grandma between him and the bird.

“Coffee’s ready,” Felix says and carries two mugs. He brings one to me and then glances between Zaire and Jace. He hands the mug to Zaire. “You don’t need coffee, you need a sedative.”

Jace snarls, grabs Felix, and kisses him hard. I forget all about my coffee, the visitors, the birds. Nothing exists but the passion, the rightness of seeing my alpha kiss my omega.

This needs to be all of my days. I can’t imagine a life without them.

Grandma turns around and looks at us all. “I don’t think you need my sage wisdom.”

“Is that what you call it? I thought you were being nosy,” Felix says in a dry tone as he sits down beside me. I curl into him, nuzzling his neck.

“Oh, hush, Felix. You all look good together, and it’s nice seeing a pack getting along. So, you’ll move into this house?”

“Why would we do that?” Clint says, but it lacks the confidence he normally has. A seagull steps closer, and he screams and throws himself backward into a wall.
