It was all I could do to hang on as we fucked next to the dead body of my enemy.

I bit. Hard. I clung to him for dear life. My legs were wrapped in a vise around his body. Hands and nails scrambled for purchase with each collision as his hips snapped against me.

“I’m going to come,” I gasped, feeling the fire spark to life deep in my core.

“Do it.”

On his command, I exploded. Tongues of pleasure burned me, licking through my veins as the orgasm scorched me.

The monster was right there with me. He threw back his head and unleashed a terrible roar. His body jerked. He slammed into me only to still a second later. I choked on air as my body clenched around him.

We laid still, bodies entwined, as his cock twitched inside me emptying his cum deep in my core.

A sane person would have pointed out that we once again hadn’t used protection. Instead, I blinked up at him, seeing the beautiful nightmare gazing down at me with a possessiveness so powerful that it stole the air from my lungs.

“Are you alright?” my stalker breathed, concern etching the corners of his eyes.

I peeled a hand from his back. It shook as I brushed my knuckles down the side of his clean-shaven cheek.

“I’m perfect.”

He sighed. “Good.”

I touched him again, marveling that his skin burned hot against the chill of the night. I noticed droplets of stains on his skin. My fingers faltered.

It wasn’t dirt.

Blood.

He wore blood. His skin was stained with it.

The full extent of what happened slammed into me, making me recoil. “He’s dead!”

Glittering black eyes watched me.

“The…the bastard’s dead.”

“He is,” came the gruff response. “You did it, beautiful.”

And the masked man was part of the execution. That meant—

Oh, my word, that meant…I didn’t have to leave.

This man knew. I didn’t have to run from him.

“My beautiful little monster,” he breathed, hands cupping my face. “You’re safe here.”

“I’m safe,” I repeated, the words more of a question than a statement.

“I shed my blood for you. Now I’ve killed for you. There is nothing, nothing I will not do to keep you, Samantha.” He bent and brushed his lips reverently over mine. Before I could return the kiss, he pulled back. “You’re mine.”

I can stay. “I’m yours.”

Again, it didn’t sound like fact. Awe filled my voice, billowing out of my chest like a cloud.

“But…but how?” I gasped.

The masked man shrugged. “The Cove has its secrets.”
