“How?” Moon asked.

“Silver Healer blood opened it.” Moon's stomach dropped. “It needs Silver Blood to close it.”

“No,” Moon whispered.

Morrigan smiled. “I'm Silver Blood too.” Moon understood, but she didn’t like it. “Selene was my sister.”

“You don't have to do this,” Moon insisted.

“Yes.” Morrigan looked toward the dead elder. “I do.”

Moon tightened her hands over the wound. “You can help us destroy them,” Moon said.

“I already did,” Morrigan said.

“You can tell me about my mother,” Moon offered.

Pain crossed Morrigan's face. “I wish I had more time.”

Moon's eyes burned. “You do.”

Morrigan touched her cheek. “You have her eyes.” Moon broke, and a sob escaped. Morrigan smiled. “She would be so proud of you.”

“You don't know that,” Moon breathed.

“Yes.” Morrigan's eyes moved toward Mayhem. “She'd like him.”

Mayhem snorted. “What’s not to like?” Moon laughed through her tears.

Morrigan whispered, “Take care of her.”

Mayhem's expression hardened. “She takes care of herself.”

Morrigan smiled. “Good answer.” Then she pushed Moon away, and Mayhem caught her.

Morrigan rolled into the opening. “No!” Moon lunged to her aunt, but Mayhem grabbed her around the waist.

“MORRIGAN!” Moon shouted. The silver glow exploded, and the earth shook. The chamber collapsed, and stone crashed downward. The silver light disappeared, followed by silence.

Moon stopped fighting Mayhem, and he held her tight. The church was destroyed. The Hollow was gone. Outside, the wolves stood staring at broken collars scattered across the snow. They were free.

Moon looked at Christmas. Chris was still standing beside the shattered seal. Chrome's hand rested against her back. Tempest entered behind them. Her face was bloody, her kutte was torn, but she was smiling. “Everyone alive?”

Howler appeared. “Silverfang is good.”

Red lifted a hand. “Dark Chaos too.”

Tempest looked at Moon. “Mayhem?” Moon turned. He stood behind her with no black veins, no shaking, and no poison.

Mayhem smiled. “Am I still pretty?” Moon laughed and ran into him. Mayhem caught her, and she wrapped her arms around his neck.

His arms went around her waist. “You scared me.”

“I know,” he said.

“I hate you,” she lied.

“No, you don't.” Moon buried her face against his neck. Damn him.
