Moon’s wolf stirred. “What kind of bridge?”

“Old and wooden,” Chris said, opening her eyes. “It’s a covered bridge.”

Tempest immediately looked at Howler. “That narrows it down.”

Howler nodded. “Especially if we know the general region.”

“We don’t,” Moon reminded them.

Chris looked at her. “Maybe we do.” Everyone turned toward her, and she sighed. “There’s one other thing.”

Chrome threw his hands up. “Jesus Christ, woman. How many things have you left out?”

Chris glared at him. “How many things do you tell Dark Chaos about your dreams?”

“I don’t dream,” he insisted.

“Everyone dreams,” Chris countered.

“I sleep like the dead,” Chrome said.

“Not helping your case,” Chris said.

“Chris,” Tempest warned.

Christmas sighed. “I hear bells in my dream.”

Moon frowned. “Church bells?”

“No,” Chris said.

“Christmas bells?” Mayhem asked. Chris slowly turned her head toward him, and Mayhem smiled. “I had to.”

“You really want me to unplug that monitor, don’t you?” she warned.

Moon covered her mouth to stifle her laugh. Mayhem looked offended. “Your VP threatens patients.”

“You aren’t her patient,” Moon said.

Chris shook her head. “Not sleigh bells, but bigger.”

“Bell tower?” Howler asked.

“Maybe,” Chris said. Moon felt something pull inside her. Not a vision, but an instinct. She walked toward her grandmother’s journal. Her hands moved before she knew what she was searching for. Page after page, she saw symbols, notes, old pack histories, and bloodlines. And then, she saw a drawing. Moon stopped.

“What?” Tempest asked. Moon turned the journal to show her a sketch of a mountain. At its base sat a small village and above it, a bell tower. Beyond the village, there was a covered bridge.

Chris went pale. “That’s it.”

Chrome moved beside her. “You sure?”

“I’ve seen that bridge every fucking night.” Moon looked at the faded writing beneath the drawing. The ink had almost disappeared. She traced the letters. Black Hollow.

Howler frowned. “Never heard of it.”

Moon read further. “It says Black Hollow was a settlement.”

“Was?” Tempest asked.
