ASSHOLES CHARGED DOUBLE.
The entire room erupted in laughter and cheers. Moon stared at Tempest, and her Prez shrugged. “Club voted.”
“On the asshole part?” Moon asked.
“That was unanimous,” Tempest said.
Mayhem raised his hand. “I voted yes.”
Moon glared at him. “You're my most frequent patient.”
“Exactly. I understand the financial implications.” Moon tried not to laugh, but failed.
Howler handed her a key, and Moon frowned. “What is this?”
“Go look,” he said.
She glanced at Tempest, and her Prez smiled. “Seriously.” Moon walked down the hall, and Mayhem followed along with everyone else because apparently privacy no longer existed. Moon reached the clinic. The door had been replaced, and so had the wall beside it. The medical bay had been expanded into the empty room next door, and it had new cabinets, new equipment, two additional exam tables, and a second treatment room.
Moon stopped breathing. “What—"
Tempest stepped beside her. “You needed more room.”
Moon looked around. “We couldn't afford this.”
“Dark Chaos didn't pay for all of it,” Tempest insisted.
Moon slowly turned, and Howler smiled at her. “Silverfang contributed.”
Moon looked at Mayhem, and he shrugged. “We've been using your services.”
“You mean you've been getting injured a lot,” she said.
“Same thing,” he said.
Moon's throat tightened as she tried to hold back the tears. Tempest touched her shoulder. “It's yours.”
Moon shook her head. “No.”
Her Prez frowned. “No?”
“It’s not mine.” Moon looked around at the Dark Chaos women and Silverfang men. They were two clubs that just one year earlier had barely trusted each other, but now they stood together as family.
“It’s ours,” Moon whispered.
Tempest smiled. “That sounds even better.”
Moon's eyes burned, and Mayhem immediately noticed. “Oh, shit.”
Moon looked at him. “What?”
“You’re crying,” he announced.
“I am not,” she insisted, swiping at the hot tears that spilled down her cheeks.
“You are.” Christmas's voice came from behind everyone. “Somebody take a picture.”
Moon spun. “Don't you dare.” Chris stood in the hallway. She looked exhausted and pissed, which wasn't unusual. The mud covering her boots was unusual, though. Moon frowned. “Where have you been?”
