Mayhem's eyebrows lifted. His wolf practically leaped. “Moon,” he breathed. “Yeah, it works both ways.”

“Good.” Moon smiled. “Because I'm not the only one getting claimed tonight.” She wiggled her hips, reminding them both that they were still joined, and he moaned out her name.

He grinned at her—slow, dangerous, and absolutely Mayhem. “God, I fucking love you.”

Moon laughed. “I know.” He kissed her and Moon's wolf surged forward willingly. Mayhem met her as their wolves chose each other.

Mayhem's mouth moved to her neck, and Moon closed her eyes. “Yes,” she whispered. The mark came with a sharp flash of pain followed immediately by heat that pooled deep in her girl parts. The bond slammed fully open, and Moon gasped. Mayhem held her as her wolf howled and his answered. Mate.

Moon felt tears slide down her face. She knew that she belonged to him without ownership, and that did crazy things to her heart. She pulled Mayhem closer and returned the mark. His entire body went rigid, and then he laughed—a deep, disbelieving sound. Moon kissed the mark she'd left. “Mine.”

Mayhem's arms tightened around her. “Ours.” Their wolves answered together. The bond settled between them. It wasn’t a chain or a cage, but a connection. Moon finally understood why her mother's warning had been so important. Trust the black wolf. Selene hadn't been telling Moon to blindly trust fate. She'd been telling her daughter that when the time came, she would recognize a man worthy of her trust, and Moon had.

“Move for me, baby,” he ordered. She smiled down at him and caressed his face with her hand. He leaned into her touch as though he couldn’t get enough of her. “You’re so fucking hot,” he said, running his hands over her breasts.

She was so close to finding her release, and when he slid his hand down between their bodies to find her clit, she rode him with a new fury. “Fuck, honey,” he growled. “I’m not going to last. I need you with me.” She nodded, and when he pinched her nipple with his fingers, she completely lost control. She shouted out his name as he pumped his seed deep inside her body.

Moon collapsed against his chest, breathing as though she had just run a race. Everything about her felt alive for the first time in a long time, and that had everything to do with the black wolf lying under her.

“Fuck,” he growled. Moon curled against Mayhem's chest as his fingers traced lazy circles along her back. She listened to his heartbeat and knew that she’d never get tired of hearing that sound.

“Doc?” he breathed.

“Hmm?” she hummed, still not able to make words yet.

“Medical question,” he said.

Moon opened one eye and peeked up at him. “What?”

“Am I officially cured?” he asked.

“Yes,” she whispered.

“Good,” he breathed. His hand stopped on her back. “Because I'm not spending another night on that exam table.”

Moon laughed. “You were a terrible patient.”

“I was charming.” Mayhem kissed her forehead, and Moon settled back against him. “Where are we going to live?” he asked.

Moon lifted her head. “What?”

“We should probably figure that out,” he insisted.

“Now?” she asked.

“Seems important,” he said.

Moon considered his question and finally nodded. “Here.”

Mayhem frowned. “In the clinic?”

“No,” she breathed.

“Good. Because this bed is just about as comfortable as that fucking table.”

“Mayhem.” He grinned, and Moon rested her chin on his chest. “I don't want to leave Dark Chaos.”

“I know,” he said.
