Her Defiant Warrior

It was too much, but not enough, and somehow Jase knew it. He increased the pressure and found a place inside her body that had her slanting up even higher. Her entire body clenched, then trembled. She was out of control. He dragged his fingers against that magical spot, then flicked her clit and a tidal wave of ecstasy transported her out of her body, up into the stars. As she opened her mouth to cry out, his lips slammed down on hers, swallowing down her shriek.

Long, long moments—minutes? —later, Bonnie found herself buttoned up, her head resting against Jase’s chest, his heartbeat supplying her with a beautiful sense of peace. Then she noticed the hard press of his erection under her hip.

“Jase,” she pushed up from his chest. “I haven’t done anything for you.”

“Yes, you have, baby. Seeing you lost in pleasure was a gift.”

“But I can feel your erection. Let me do something for you.”

“I’ve been hard damn near every time I’ve been around you, but I’ve been able to keep it in my pants. That doesn’t mean I don’t want us to make love, because I do. I just don’t want to do it on your couch, always listening to see if your kids might wake up for a glass of water. No baby—when we first make love, it will be when I have the entire night to touch and taste you properly.”

Bonnie shivered, and Jase laughed.

“You like the sound of that, don’t you?”

She could only nod.

“Now, before one of the kiddos does get up, I think it’s time for me to leave. Do you need me to carry you to bed and read you a bedtime story?” His eyebrow arched and his dimple popped as he grinned.

“I don’t think that will be necessary.”

“Such a shame.”

He dipped his head and kissed her.

“Good night, Bonnie,” he said as he pushed up from the couch. “Now come walk me to the door and lock up, then don’t forget to set the alarm.”

Bonnie rolled her eyes as she got up off the couch. “You know, I survived just fine before you came into my life.”

“Yeah, but I bet it wasn’t nearly as fun.”

Again, she rolled her eyes.

Jase dipped down for another slow kiss and Bonnie considered just how close her bedroom was to her front door.

“Nope. No sex tonight,” he laughed as he broke off the kiss. “Sweet dreams, gorgeous.”

“Nothing but,” she promised.

On his way to Bonnie’s house, Jase’s car’s Bluetooth read him a message:

“Kostya Barona said, ‘Lock things up and come to base, it’s time to leave.’”

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me!” Jase said as he pounded his Mustang’s steering wheel. There wasn’t a place to park in front of her house, so he found a spot four houses down. He paralleled parked and shot out of his car.

How in the fuck am I going to explain this?

Before he had a chance to knock on the door, Bonnie opened it.

Jase felt something melt inside of him. That was Bonnie, no subterfuge. Once she decided she liked him, cared about him, she wasn’t afraid to show it.

Damn, there was a fuck of a lot to lov—like—about this woman.

“You’re early.” She grinned. “How did I guess that would happen? Come inside. I’m almost done getting ready. Just gotta decide on which boots to wear.”

She was down the hall before he had a chance to talk to her, or even kiss her for that matter. When she came back, she was wearing leather boots that molded to her lower leg perfectly. She was wearing the pumpkin sweater dress he remembered seeing when he’d taken her out for seafood the previous weekend. Come to think of it, he’d noticed repeats in her clothes, but she almost always had different shoes on.
