“What?” I asked.

“I love when you wear your glasses,” she said, reaching a hand up to stroke my face. “So sexy.”

“Yeah, you got a thing for nerds, huh?”

“Maybe…” she trailed off, and then tried to get a peek at the website.

I shifted away from her. “Nope, you only get to see it when I’m done.”

She pouted. “Please, Dec. I want to see the progress.”

“Well, you need to answer about the logo first.”

She frowned. “Dad can’t decide! Felix did an amazing job.”

“Let’s look at them again,” I suggested.

I pulled up Felix’s designs on my computer, and we looked at them together. Lila stared at my screen and wrinkled her nose as she thought about it.

Felix gave us three logo concepts. One was a circular logo with a brown background and a green four-leaf clover in the center. Above the clover, read ‘SULLIVAN’S’ across the top, and then down below it read ‘BAR.’ The second one was another circular logo with a Celtic knot design as a border. The rest of the circle was blocked out in green with a harp in the center. The word ‘SULLIVAN’S’ was written around the top above the harp, and then ‘IRISH PUB’ was below it. The third one was rectangular with a brown background and had green four-leaf clovers on each corner. In the center was a pint of beer, with ‘SULLIVAN’S’ above the pint glass and ‘BAR’ below it.

I pulled up his notes again to reread them.

Hey,

Here are three concepts. Any of them can be changed to have it as Sullivan’s Bar or Sullivan’s Irish Pub. I know the name has been Sullivan’s Bar forever, but Gemma suggested a rebrand to compete with other Irish pubs and to have a similar look people think of. I think it will fit the aesthetic, especially with the new menu.

“What’s your favorite?” I asked her.

She chewed on her lip. “I think Gemma’s right about calling it an Irish Pub, but I’m afraid that since we’ve been called a bar for so long, it will confuse people.”

“Okay, not my question. If you had to choose, which would it be?”

She peered at my computer again for a couple of seconds. “The harp one. My mom and Kelsey like that one too, but Dad’s the owner, so I need him to decide.”

“That’s my favorite too, and yeah, I agree with Gemma, too. Call it a pub. All the other Irish bars are called pubs. It fits in with the branding. As soon as we make a decision, Felix can start incorporating it into the menu redesign.”

She grimaced. “Good, because I’m pretty sure we’re printing it out on computer paper right now. But maybe if you like that one too, that gives me extra firepower.”

“Why’s that?”

She rolled her eyes. “Because my dad loves you, and your opinion probably means more than mine.”

I frowned. “That’s not true.”

“Yeah, it is.”

I closed my laptop and got up to put it on my desk. I glared at Lila when I noticed her dirty towel and clothes strewn about on my floor. I picked those up and aggressively threw them in my hamper.

She laughed. “You’re so anal, Dec!”

“I like things in their proper place.”

“Such a control freak.”

I crawled back into the bed with her and pulled her against my chest. “You seem to like it when I’m in control.”

Heat colored her face, but that didn’t stop her from grinning at me. “Maybe…”
