She cries, pressing back my hand. “I need you. Please. Let me feel you.”
I thrust forward, my cock wedged between her thighs, and it’s fucking heaven. She slides along my length, pushing against me, but I remain still.
“Cassie. Honey.”
“I’m yours, Nolan. Was from that first night. Haven’t stopped…”
I shove inside her, and she comes apart on a sharp cry. “Mine,” I say against her ear.
Cassie spins, sinking down to her knees, and takes me in her mouth. Her hand works over my balls, then strokes me until I see stars.
“I’m going to come, honey.”
She nods, gagging on my cock.
“You don’t have to—”
She grips me tighter, her eyes meeting mine as the water runs cooler. If we don’t get out soon, it’s going to be a fucking cold plunge.
I spill into her mouth, my orgasm racing through me. For a minute, all I hear is the echoing thunder of my heartbeat in my ears, her gorgeous green eyes steady on me. She releases me, standing up. Soap, water, the quiet sounds of her washing us both clean. Then she turns off the shower and steps out, but her hand reaches back for mine.
And I follow, like I always do.
Chapter 26
Cassie
It’s strange, what a heart can feel. Mine I was sure would be sealed shut after I asked Matt for the divorce.
Nolan slides one hand across my hip as the other gently towel-dries the tips of my hair. We stand there in my bedroom, only the soft moonlight washing in across the floor and the sound of a cold night’s wind rattling the screens.
He loves me.
I rest my head against his chest, inhaling the scent of his soap as I press against him, trying to fight off the inevitable shiver. It’s freezing in my room.
“Come to bed, honey,” he whispers. Nolan scoops me up and carries me to bed. The mattress dips beneath us before he reaches behind him and pulls my giant duvet over us both. I lay on top of him, kissing his chest, his throat, tracing my fingers over the sharp lines of his face. I stop at the small scar above his left eyebrow.
“I’m so scared you’re going to hurt me.”
His hands slide up and down my back in lazy circles but then stop. “I have a joke about the night we met, but I think I need to wait to tell it.”
I chuckle. Can’t help it. God, loving him is so easy. I wish he could understand.
“Very perceptive.”
He kisses my forehead. “I’m not always an idiot.”
“You’re never an idiot. That’s the problem.” I mean it like a joke, but there’s nothing funny about that either.
“What happened today? Tell me.”
“I caught him. He bailed on Ruby last minute, and I was driving back from your parents and saw his car at the coffee shop. The fucking bastard was on a date. He wants to bring me to court for custody, but he can’t even show up for his daughter.”
“Then we’ll fight it.”
I wiggle against him, peering down at him. He really needs a haircut, but I don’t have the heart to suggest it when his hair looks so perfectly messy against my pillowcase. Makes him softer. Nolan Murphy might pretend to bite, but he’s no better than a big teddy bear.
“I have video.”
