I brace a hand against the headboard as he increases his pace, the power of his thrusts pushing me deeper into the bed.

“Yes,” I moan against him, arching my hips higher so he hits that spot deep inside me. “Harder, Tavish,” I beg.

He pulls out and flips me onto my stomach. Tavish takes my hips in his hands and lifts me so I rest on all fours in the middle of the bed. He caresses my ass before he spanks me, the sudden sensation making me jolt forward and a gasp of pleasure leave my throat.

“Do you like it rough, Elsie?”

I nod and fist the crumpled sheets in my hand. He growls and slides into me on a deep thrust. I push my ass against him, feeling him everywhere. A long, low moan leaves my open mouth and Tavish pulls out and slams into me. Over and over.

“Look at you taking me so well,” he praises. “You were made for me to ruin.”

The power he has over me is going to be the death of me. Each dirty word that leaves his mouth unlocks something inside me, and shows me new pleasures I haven’t experienced before.

The angle and the strength of Tavish’s thrusts have me clenching around him. He wraps my hair around a fist and uses it to pull me harder against him. And then Tavish unleashes himself on me.

He drives into me hard and fast. The sound of our bodies meeting and our moans of pleasure fill the room with a dirty symphony that I’d have on repeat.

“Tavish, I’m close,” I tell him. He lets go of my hair and slides his hand down my back, round my ass and between my legs, applying the perfect amount of pressure against my clit in tight circles.

“Fucking come all over me, little warrior. Let me feel you.” He spanks me again and then grips my hip so hard there’s no doubt he’ll be leaving his mark on me.

I break against him. I drive my ass back into him as my orgasm reaches its peak.

Tavish throbs inside me. “Yes, Elsie,” he cries and I feel his release filling me. We both come long and hard, drawing the pleasure out as long as we can.

I collapse onto the bed, not able to hold my weight after the spell Tavish just wove on my body. He trails soft kisses along my spine before lying next to me and pulling me against his chest.

We lie together, sweaty and panting, waiting for the other to say something. He takes my chin between his fingers, like he’s holding something precious to him, and lifts my face to kiss me.

I rest my head on his chest and run my fingers up and down his torso, his many scars feeling bumpy under my fingertips. I reach his right side and he jolts away from me laughing.

“Are you ticklish?” I ask, running my hands in the same spot.

“Yes,” he replies and snatches my hand in his own and plants a kiss on the back of it before threading our fingers together.

“Good to know,” I chuckle and tangle my legs with his as he frees my hair from its ponytail with his other hand and runs his fingers through it like he’s done so many times. I lean in closer to him and enjoy the way he massages my scalp before pulling on the long strands.

“Were you ever going to tell me?” he asks thoughtfully.

I rest my chin in the center of his chest, looking at his beautiful hazel eyes. “I think I would have, eventually. I didn’t want to lie to you, and getting closer to you would have meant doing that. That’s why I kept you at a distance.”

“I understand why you did it. I only wish you could have trusted me.”

“I do trust you,” I confirm, gliding my fingers along his jaw. “I just didn’t know what it meant.”

We watch each other, trying to determine what’s going on in each other’s mind.

“Will you still leave when the barrier opens? You’re Seelie. You belong in Elfayne.” I see the hope he tries to tamp down as he waits for my response.

“I have to,” I sigh and I lay my head back down. “My Grandpa . . . I have so many questions.”

“Will you come back?” his voice rumbles in my ear.

“I don’t know,” I answer honestly. I want to. But will it be safe? I’m no fighter, and if the Dorche find out who I am, I will be killed.

We lie together in silence then, each considering what the other said, and what our future might hold.
