“Fuck,” he rasps.

I tighten my grip in his hair. Tavish dips his head lower, one hand snaking up my back. When his hand connects with my bare skin above the dress, a spark ignites in my stomach and electricity courses over my entire body.

He stops a breath away, his lips so close to mine.

With a dark voice full of pleasure and promise, Tavish purrs, “If you don’t want this, you need to stop me now. Or I’m going to claim you in front of all these people.”

Fuck. Me.

Without any hesitation, I close the distance between us and press my lips to his.

Chapter 26

The next morning, my head pounds and my throat is drier than the Sahara Desert.

Kill me now.

I lie flat on my stomach under the sheets of my bed, legs and arms splayed out. I groan and roll over, keeping my eyes closed.

“Good morning.”

The voice next to me makes me freeze. I peek through one eye and see Tavish propped up in the bed, shirtless and smirking at me. And looking far sexier than anyone should be allowed to look in the morning. I open both eyes and look down at myself, covering my face with my hands.

“Why am I wearing your shirt? And why are you in my bed?” I ask on a moan from behind my hands.

Tavish chuckles next to me. “I put you in my shirt because you decided running around in your underwear was hilarious, and told me to catch you if I could. You’re surprisingly fast.”

I shake my head in denial. “Nope. No I didn’t. That didn’t happen.”

“You definitely did,” he replies with a smile in his voice.

“Fuck my life,” I grumble. “Why did you stay?”

Tavish doesn’t reply and I peep at him through my fingers and see his face has grown serious.

“Shit, we didn’t sleep together, did we?”

“No, we didn’t,” he confirms with a gentle curve of his lips.

I heave a sigh of relief and pull the sheets up to my chin, looking up at him through my lashes. “So, why did you stay?”

He looks down at me. “Because you asked me to.”

“I did?”

He nods. “You told me you were lonely and didn’t remember what it felt like to be held by a man.”

Can the ground just swallow me whole now? Please and thanks.

I search his face while I look for something to say.

“Coffee?” he offers, saving me from having to explain my pathetic drunk ass and not asking why I begged him to stay in my bed.

“Yes, please. I’m just going to freshen up,” I tell him and watch as he gets out of bed. He’s only wearing underwear and I have to fight not to watch the globes of his ass move as he goes into the living room.

Despite the headache, I don’t feel too bad when I slip out of bed and pad into the bathroom where I brush my hair, my teeth, and wash my face. Drunk Me had remembered to take my makeup off at least.

I change out of Tavish’s shirt and into some comfy leggings and the black sweater I wore a few nights ago, and follow the smell of coffee.
