I shake my head, fighting another laugh.
I've seen Cody walk away from more one-night stands than I can count without so much as looking back. Whoever this girl is, she must've been something if the biggest fuckboy I know is already fucked.
EPILOGUE 2
TAYLOR
FIVE YEARS LATER
I have checked the flowers three times.
The seating chart twice.
The weather approximately every eleven minutes even though the ceremony is indoors and therefore the weather has absolutely no fucking relevance to anything.
I have personally confirmed that the cake arrived, the photographer arrived, the officiant arrived, the rings are where they're supposed to be, and nobody has accidentally poisoned the groom.
And yet my brain remains convinced that somewhere in this hotel, disaster is stretching its hamstrings and preparing to ruin my wedding.
Because apparently being paranoid and being a bride are a truly catastrophic combination.
"Taylor."
I keep pacing.
"Taylor."
What if someone knocks over the cake?
"Taylor."
What if the florist somehow used the wrong flowers even though I literally saw them twenty minutes ago?
"Taylor!"
I stop.
Miho is standing in front of me with both hands planted on her hips, already dressed in her bridesmaid gown and staring at me like she's considering tranquilizing me.
"What?"
"You need to sit down."
"I am perfectly fine."
"You've walked past that chair fourteen times. You're going to pass out before you make it down the aisle."
"I am not going to pass out."
Caroline looks up from where she's sitting on the sofa. "For the record, you do look a little pale."
"Shit." I immediately press both palms to my cheeks. "What if I really do pass out in this condition?"
"You're not going to pass out." Miho grabs me by both shoulders before I can start pacing again. "Okay. Breathe."
"I am breathing."
"Barely. In."
