He’d liked the messy, imperfect parts of her from the moment they’d met.
Nathaniel stared down at her with a hard expression, fisting his cock and aiming it at her face. The last of his cum oozed from the tip, and Gloria’s wetness coated his length. His eyes locked with hers, his voice calm as he gave the order. “Be a good pet and lick me clean, slut. Then, we shall go.”
Disgust and excitement shot through Kira, causing her insides to tingle with anticipation.
She opened her mouth eagerly to accept his cock.
Chapter 37
Before the Wedding
Nathaniel
It was late afternoon on the day of Nathaniel’s wedding night. It was a vampire tradition for it to take place after sundown, and this was no exception. There was less than an hour before he and Kira were due to leave his dorm room.
To say that he was nervous would have been an understatement.
More like dead inside.
He felt as if his insides had turned to ash. The wedding attire did not help. It had once belonged to one of the vampire princes of yesteryear, selected by his father to help him look the part.
He stood before the mirror adjusting his neck scarf with numb fingers that wouldn’t cooperate. He wore a three-piece suit: a maroon vest embellished with gold floral thread; dark pants, and a matching coat with sharp accent shoulders, large, folded cuffs, and a jagged swallow tail trailing down to his mid-calf. His icy blond hair was slick with oil and combed back so it lay completely flat. He frowned at his reflection. There was not a hair out of place, and it lent a severity to his face that reminded him of his father.
He flinched when a hand touched his shoulder.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to startle you,” Kira said with a reassuring smile.
“It’s fine,” he said, clearing his throat and turning to her.
“Just lost in thought.”
Kira nodded slowly. “Me too. Here.” She reached up to adjust his neck scarf before giving him a strained smile that didn’t brighten her sad eyes. “You look very handsome.”
“Thank you. And you are stunning…as always.”
She was wearing an elegant cream dress with a fitted bodice of intricate lace that hugged her upper body and emphasised her slender waist. The V-shaped neckline was embroidered with royal blue butterflies, and a voluminous skirt of layered tulle emphasised her long shapely legs. She wore blue, closed-toed heels, and underneath the dress, she wore satin lingerie in the same vibrant blue colour.
“Thank you,” she said with a shy smile, looking so much like a blushing bride that he wanted to throw his arms around her and never let go.
Little does she know that my father chose the dress…no doubt for the very purpose of rubbing salt in the wound.
Dressed like this, Kira was a vision of beauty, and it was easy to imagine that this was their wedding, and that she was the one he was going to marry.
The thought pierced his heart.
If only.
She stood silently before him, her eyes watchful. She was normally never this quiet, and he hated that they were spending their final moments together grieving for what they could never have.
He caressed her cheek, tracing the curve of her face and feeling the softness of her brown hair. He would miss her sorely in the weeks to come, and then forever after that.
He knew that Kira was counting the days when he would return from his honeymoon with Gloria and she could see him again…but he wasn’t. There wouldn’t be a honeymoon. This would all be over tonight.
“You’re awfully quiet,” she murmured.
“So are you.”
Last night, they hadn’t slept a wink, and had only held each other in the darkness, their hearts racing with the dreaded wedding drawing nearer.
