Kira shook her head, because she didn’t know the answer. She did, but she didn’t. If the matching tie implied they were a couple, however, then she wanted him to leave it on.

“Cat got your tongue, pet?” Nathaniel teased.

“No,” she shot back. He knew she hated any mention of felines.

His lip curled, revealing his long fangs as he began untying his tie.

“What are you doing?”

He didn’t answer as he took hold of her hands and bound them tightly with the black and gold fabric.

“Nathaniel?”

His lower jaw clenched in concentration as he pulled the fabric tight in one swift motion.

It dug into her wrists, and there was zero wiggle room as he tied a bow.

“You’re right, pet,” he said, reaching past her to open the dreaded drawer of his desk to take out the collar and gag. “We don’t want Gloria to think you’re a threat.”

“No,” Kira protested as he unclipped the collar he’d given her—the one studded with onyx, rubies, and bearing her locket—and strapped the black leather one on instead. “I don’t want to wear it.”

Nathaniel hesitated. “I know. But it would be in our best interest if Gloria grants us a private audience without her cronies present. She has a bedroom at the back of the club. If you arrive gagged and collared, with all outward appearance of the perfect, docile pet, then Gloria will lower her guard.”

“You make a strong case,” she said sarcastically. “Did you think that up just now, or were you always planning on making me wear this thing?”

Nathaniel smiled. “I had not planned on using my tie to restrain you, but…yes, it was premeditated.”

She huffed. “Figures.”

“Be flattered, pet. You’ve inspired me.”

Kira rolled her eyes, then glanced down to where her legs were still spread. The hem of her dress barely covered her cunt, at least to her own eyes. Nathaniel no doubt saw every inch of her, glistening and yearning for him. She was throbbing with need, and she was ready for him to finish what he’d started.

Nathaniel’s eyes glinted as if he read her mind. He pushed the ball gag into her mouth. “Soon, pet. But not yet.”

Chapter 34

The Nightclub

Kira

Kira was secretly grateful for the carriage Nathaniel ordered to take them from the academy to the nightclub. She was struggling to manage in the ridiculously tall heels, which she was sure even Victoria would have been hard-pressed to pull off. She was forced to rely on Nathaniel’s arm for balance, which she soon came to realise had been his intention all along.

He’d offered to carry her up the seven winding staircases from the dorms to the foyer, but she’d insisted on climbing up herself.

No way am I letting him carry me like a damsel in distress.

By the time the door to the foyer came into sight, her feet were sore and her hair had stuck to her sweaty forehead, making her regret her stubbornness. In hindsight, it had been pointless. She hadn’t saved face at all—for once, there had been no one on the stairwell except them.

Having her wrists bound before her had not helped matters, and the gag in her mouth made it difficult to breathe. At least she wasn’t wearing a leash, but she’d spotted him pocketing it earlier, and it made her wary.

She resented Nathaniel for insisting that she lead the way up the stairs, knowing it gave him a perfect view of her ass. She couldn’t even tug the hem of her skirt down with her hands bound, but at least he’d been there to catch her in case she fell backwards.

“I need a drink,” she said mentally when they finally reached the top, letting him feel how parched she was and how much the shoes were killing her feet for good measure. They could both suffer together.

“There’ll be water in the carriage,” Nathaniel promised as they entered the foyer.

To her horror, the hall was full of parents and teachers sitting at tables. She’d forgotten about the parent-teacher interviews that were being held for the fifth years tonight.
