“Believe it, Love. Ocean hasn’t seen it yet, but he’s going to go crazy seeing the pool and jungle gym.”
“You know he is. We need to get him some swimming lessons because it’s going to be hard getting him out the pool.”
Shea chuckled. “You’re right. I’ll look into that. I do have one more surprise for you.”
I turned around to ask Shea what it was to find him on one knee. My hands flew to my mouth, and the waterworks started all over again. Between the baby and Shea, they would probably never come to an end.
“Yes! A thousand times yes, Shea!”
He jerked his head back and kissed his teeth. “I was only tying my shoe.”
Laughing, he stood up and dodged my swings.
“I’m too emotional for you to be playing with me like that.”
“I know, I know.” He pulled a small box from his pocket and opened it. “When it comes to my love for you, that’s something I’ll never play ’bout again if you give me the chance to be yo’ husband again and continue a new life with you and our children.”
“Didn’t I already say yes?”
“Look who’s playing now.”
I snickered and placed a juicy kiss on his lips. “When it comes to my love for you, that’s something I’ll never play ’bout again.”
“I’m still yours, Love.”
“And I’m still yours.”
O'SHEA COLLIER
ONE MONTH LATER . . .
Moya was stressing me out.
Our gender reveal had started, and we were running late. Sad thing was it was being held at our house. We wanted everyone to see it as well as find out what our little one would be, so we decided to make it a two-in-one special. All morning, Moya had been running around like crazy. Whenever I offered to help, she declined, saying I’d already done enough. I wasn’t sure if she was being funny or serious, but I’d learned to pick my battles with her.
Another thing was that she wouldn’t let me see the backyard. Anytime I went to check on what was going on, she or the other women would shoo me away. My mother, sisters, Albany, and Zena were all present. They’d been there for a few hours helping Moya. I felt useless, so I chilled with Ocean until it was time to get ready.
My boy looked good in his baby blue collared shirt with khaki shorts and loafers. Of course, we matched, but my shirt was a powdery pink as Moya called it. I was Team Girl all day, while Moya and Ocean were Team Boy. At the end of the day, I didn’t really care. As long as Moya had a smooth pregnancy and delivered a healthy baby, I would be happy.
“Is Mommy ready yet?” Ocean asked.
“I’m ’bout to go check. How are we running late to an event at our own house?”
Ocean laughed as I headed to the bathroom to check on Moya. The door swung open as I reached out to grab the doorknob, and I was speechless. Moya stood there, dressed in a beautiful, white dress that hugged her baby bump. It was low cut with lace covering the opening. Her makeup was subtle but flawless, and her pixie was curled exactly how she liked it. Baby Collier had her bronze skin glowing. It would be impossible for me to take my eyes off her.
“Damn, Love. You’re so pretty.”
“Wow, Mommy. Is that your wedding dress?”
Moya’s eyes widened, and I whipped my head around. Ocean’s gaze went back and forth between me and Moya. His chubby cheeks beat red as he cracked a little smile before running off. I turned back to Moya, who was shaking her head.
“What is he talking ’bout?” I interrogated.
“He’s been hearing us talk about our wedding plans. I guess he assumed since I’m wearing white that that’s what we’re doing today.”
What Moya said made sense. I didn’t think twice about it, but I should have. We made it downstairs to find my father and Albany waiting for us. I frowned as Albany handed Moya a bouquet of flowers, while Onyx took his place by my side. I looked around at everyone.
“Does anyone want to explain what’s going on?”
