He’s a drummer who’s been on stage…

The man is an internationally known rockstar on par with the freaking Rolling Stones or the Beatles.

Holy, holy shit.

And he’s disappeared from the music scene. Gone from LA.

Well, I know where he’s ended up. East freaking Springs. The very edge of the world. I doubt Los Angeles’ paparazzi are searching for him here.

There’s so much to process that I don’t know where to begin.

But I do know one thing.

Caspian Pierce – Ford – has been lying to me.

I need to see him. Right now.

I stand up and leave the bar, hoping to find Caspian on the main street of the small town. I burst out of the front doors, my head scanning left and right.

I know he’s coming to see me at the bar, but I need to walk. Do something. My mind is going at a hundred miles an hour and I need to just freaking move.

As I reach the sidewalk and start to head towards Cyrus’ gym on the other side of town, a car screeches to a halt beside me. The loud, sharp noise makes me jump, but it’s what happens next that makes my heart truly stop.

The car’s window winds down and out comes a pistol aimed directly at my head.

What the…

Behind the pistol is a man I know well. The last man I want to see.

A skinny man with a tattoo of a sword across his face.

I don’t say a word. I’m in shock. My eyes drift down to the gun pointed at me.

There’s no one around. No one to see what’s happening.

They’ve timed this very well.

Caspian… where are you?

I need the man I love. The man I don’t even know.

The tattooed gang leader says only two words, loud enough for only me to hear, and that’s when I know I’m doomed.

“Get in.”

CASPIAN

I pull onto the main street of East Springs. It’s not far from Cyrus’ gym to the bar, but I want to drive. I’ll like to take Elsa back to mine after this drink.

It was so sweet seeing the massive gym owner ask out Juniper. Even though I’ve been completely oblivious to the sparks happening between them, I can see how they will make a cute couple. She can put up with his shit, and he’s the only man within a hundred miles strong enough to handle a woman like her.

As I left the gym, both of them gave me a friendly wave. I didn’t head over to them for a chat; I’m sure they’re busy organizing the logistics of their little date. I can’t wait to hear all about it from them individually in the coming days.

And I can’t wait to tell Elsa the good news. I can’t wait to see that gorgeous face of hers light up when she hears that her brother has finally bitten the bullet.

Maybe things are going to be okay. Maybe this little life I’m building in this small town is all I need. Maybe I can completely forget about my Ravaged life and my childhood and the aggression inside me.
