“Here you go! You looked like you needed this,” she said with a wink, parking it in front of me. I unloaded my arms with a grateful smile.

I wasn’t sure how to feel, but my omega was desperate to find more, to pick things out that reminded her of home and our pack.

Biting my lip, I looked over the section and knew I was in trouble. There was so much potential and my omega wanted it all.

Glancing over my shoulder for my bestie I saw Sabrina in her section of the store looking over a few blankets and had at least five plushies stacked in her cart.

Hopefully, all our finds would fit in her car.

If not, I’ll totally ask my pack to come help us.

Trying to control myself I walked around the store, looking at all the options and immediately was drawn to a few things in different sections.

There was a super cute otter blanket that reminded me of Aiden. An orange flannel blanket that was the exact shade of Dean’s favorite color. My lips curved into a big grin as I saw a gamer section. Somehow they had created super cute and comfy things that were obviously gaming related.

Did I grab enough that another store clerk came over with a second cart?

Maybe.

But my omega was thriving now that she’d found so many things that reminded her of her pack.

As I grabbed a funny garden gnome painting that made me think of my outing with Jack and a plush pirate cat with an eyepatch that reminds me of Earl, who is in love with Kai.

“Girl… you were worried about me?” I spun around as Sabrina eyed my two overflowing carts with amusement. “Your heat is coming soon or what?”

I blinked a few times, staring at the carts with a critical eye then shaking my head furiously.

“Definitely not, bestie. I’ve been on top of my medication. No way do I need to deal with a heat on top of everything else.”

“Hmmm.”

“I’m serious!” I opened my purse and showed her my pack with all my pills taken up to today.

“Well, we need to get a move on if we want to fit anything else in my car today. Let’s check out and get some coffee before we hit the other stores. With a much more limited shopping budget. Oh, and while you were walking around in a nesting haze, my mom called — family cookout tonight with everyone invited. So, we have a time limit. Which means we gotta move it, bestie!”

I laughed at her teasing, easily agreeing with her as I closed my purse.

“You were right, though. This place is amazing. I’ll definitely be back.”

“So will I,” she agreed readily, a big smile on her face. “I found a ton of things.”

“Let’s try that gaming place after coffee. I’m curious if we can actually find those Tamagotchis to give them at dinner tonight.”

I leaned into her side, beyond happy to have some bestie time to relax and escape some of the craziness of my life.

After an insane game of Tetris and her car, we fit everything and she could still see out the back windows. That was a win. Now that it was more than limited on space, we skipped ahead to the gaming store.

“Retro section,” Sabrina said, spotting it as soon as we walked in then dragging me over. I figured we’d find one or two. I did not expect to find an entire display.

“Oh my god, I’m getting a few extras for the family,” she snorted. “Imagine us all feeding these little creatures, even my parents.”

I carefully selected a handful of them, opting for a variety of colors and styles so everyone could pick, while Sabrina did the same. She had over ten family members and wanted one for every single one of them.

When we walked up to the counter, the clerk’s eyes went wide. “Wow, this is unexpected.”

“We love these mini games,” Sabrina smirked as I burst out laughing.

The guys were going to love that description.
