Apparently, my moms and Luca had been dabbling in macrame lately. Father gave me an exasperated but amused look behind his back that I returned. They were always trying new things and after meeting Tillie’s family, I just knew they’d all get along great.

The back door burst open behind them and my moms and sister came in. Of course, my twin stuck her head in first.

“You good, drama king?”

“Yeah,” I said sheepishly. “Sorry about that.”

“It’s okay, I know you’re weird by now.” She rolled her eyes but grinned. “You better get used to the idea, Uncle Aidey.”

I groaned but smiled back, not wanting to make it worse. Sometimes it was best to play along.

Then my mom was taking the phone, every bit as enthusiastic as my dad. “Hey, sweetie! Wait, are you outside?!”

“That’s what I said!” Dad laughed. “He’s got himself a farm girl.”

“Oh my god!” Mom said asking about a million questions rapid fire. I answered what I could and just when I was about to get overwhelmed the phone was in my other mom, Salem’s, hand.

“Hey, Aiden,” she said, walking away and letting the noise quiet a little. “It looks peaceful there.”

“It is,” I admitted as I turned the camera and stepped back, giving her a full view of the lake. “I come out here and work sometimes. I like it a lot more than I expected.”

“That’s good and I’m glad you’re finally getting out from behind your screens all the time. You need to find more balance. Maybe this omega can help with that.”

“Maybe,” I said slowly, knowing she was right. I was never good at the balance thing… for anything really. But when it came to my digital art or video games I was known to get sucked in.

“Are you happy?” Her question pulled me from my musing and I nodded.

“Very happy.”

We talked for a while longer and I spoke with everyone a few times before I could even attempt to end the call.

With promises to visit soon, I finally got off the call so I could go get ready. If I was going to bring up babies, I needed to mentally prepare myself.

And hopefully, not have a panic attack while doing it.

Tillie had finished unloading by the time I walked up. She gave me a sweet smile. Just like that, the tension bled from my shoulders and I returned it easily.

“Sorry, my parents were calling again. I had to answer, or they’d come find me,” I admitted sheepishly.

“So, they’re as crazy as my family?” she mused.

“Probably the same level or close to it,” I replied honestly.

“Maybe we should just get them all together. It would be perfect chaos,” Tillie laughed. “But for now, we have plans. Get your sexy ass inside and get ready.”

She gave me a faux-stern look and rushed ahead of me into the house. I stared after her, not moving until she was fully inside. No way was I going to miss the view of her perfect ass in those leggings.

“Earth to Aiden!” I jumped, my heart in my throat, as Kai laughed at me from the doorway. “You better come inside and get ready. Tillie is already giving us the countdown for the time to leave for this gaming bar she found.”

“I’m coming!”

I hurried up the stairs and inside the house, registering that Kai inhaled just a bit deeper than normal as I walked past him.

Without really knowing why, I looked over at him, noting how his cheeks reddened as I stared at him and didn’t move away.

He reached up slowly, his hand shaking slightly when Tillie called out saying we only had ten minutes left before we were leaving.

I stepped back, clearing my throat roughly.
