“I think if you try to get closer to me, your cow is going to stomp me,” Jack half smiled at me, though I noticed he did eyeball the cow beside me. “I’m fine.”
Looking down at the cow who was snuggling up to me and looking up as if to say he was innocent of all wrongdoing.
“You’re a problem,” I scolded him but as we walked away I whispered to him that it was hilarious, though.
“I heard that!” Jack called out and I burst out laughing as I ran off.
“Don’t let them out when you manage to recover, Jack!” I called back and hurried up to the house, determined to take a shower and wash off my sweat.
“What’s the rush?” Dean asked as soon as I opened the door and came inside.
Looking up I found him watching me and sipping a can of Coke.
“Just wanting to shower off some of the sweat from working in the garden,” I told him, attempting to not mention anything about Jack’s current predicament. But I couldn’t help myself. “I do think Jack needs some help, though.”
“What do you mean?” Dean asked, putting his drink down before heading towards the door.
“Just a small animal issue I think,” I managed before heading upstairs to get cleaned up.
Deep laughter rang out and then Jack’s complaining soon followed before I heard the house door opening again.
I was going to take this time for a shower and to have some time alone. Claiming some time with Jack later was definitely going to happen but right then I just wanted to clean up and play another one of those games they had downloaded for me to relax.
The hot water was immaculate. I was a bit sore from a few rounds with the betas the other night and the work outside, so I soaked in the hot spray, letting it unknot my muscles and chase away the outside grime.
It wasn’t until I was fully relaxed that I started my actual shower. In another ten minutes my hair was clean, I smelled like wildflowers, and my legs were properly shaved.
Now that my chores were done I slipped into a pair of comfy shorts and snagged one of Dean’s shirts out of his bag. I pulled it over my nose and breathed in my alpha, a happy, little noise escaping me that was far too embarrassing to be witnessed.
I slipped into the living room to find it empty. The pack’s voices echoed in from outside but I went about building two snack plates. One bigger for the guys and one smaller one for me. I toasted up some sourdough, snagged a few leftover cookies, chips, added cheese cubes and meats, then some fresh fruit and veggies before calling it good.
I danced over to my brand new computer and snuggled into the cozy chair before booting up another game on the list. I was determined to play a bit of each game they had picked out for me.
This time it was a spooky but adorable mystery game about a haunted library and a town that had a whole lot of problems to solve.
I made my cute, little character blonde like me and chose a sundress so she was a drop of pure sunshine in the gothic world.
Then I was lost in it. My snacks slowly dwindled and I ignored the world as I started doing the little errands and convincing the library ghosts to help me out. At one point my drink was refilled but no one spoke to me.
My bladder eventually refused to be ignored and it was like the world came rushing in at once. I stood with a groan and someone started to speak before I literally ran for the bathroom with a quickly shouted ‘one sec!’
When I came back out, they were all sitting around the living room barely holding back their laughter.
“I’m so proud. Her first binge session,” Kai teased in a faux-sappy voice, swiping at a nonexistent tear.
“Oh my goodness.” I rolled my eyes at his dramatics and walked past him to sit at my desk again to continue my game.
“Sandwiches for dinner then if we’re all locking in?” Dean suggested and I agreed without even looking away from my screen.
Everyone else echoed the sentiment and we all locked into our respective games. At some point I got up to pee again when I noticed Jack making sandwiches in the kitchen with Dean helping him.
I walked in, snuggling into Jack’s side as he asked me what I wanted.
“Just a club sandwich is good, nothing too crazy.”
“I see you stole my shirt, omega,” Dean commented as my cheeks heated. “It looks good on you.”
“I bet it looks even better off,” Jack muttered and I looked up at him, surprised at his comment with the other alpha here. Glancing between them I saw they both looked amused before looking at each other.
