“I’ll survive,” Aiden said with a shrug. Anxiety sparked in his eyes, a little panic shining through. “I deal with Kai on a daily basis.”
“Hey!” the beta beside protested as the alphas both laughed.
“Stick with me. I’ll protect you,” I teased before standing up. “Now, I believe I have a computer in the midst of being assembled.”
That was enough to get everyone moving again.
Dean
My amusement grew as Tillie sat down in front of the computer, overwhelm clear on her face as Kai and Aiden started trying to explain things to her.
The tower was purple with plenty of light options for her to make it as crazy as she wanted it. They had found a large monitor along with a headset and controller.
Honey brown eyes glanced over at me in confusion making me step in.
“You know what? Why don’t we have a dinner and movie night and leave the technology for tomorrow?” I proposed as I tried to make my omega happy and keep peace with the betas that had done so much to set this up for her. “I’m sure after talking about that jackass and us coming in here, Tillie needs a bit of unwind time.”
Kai and Aiden both quieted, looking at Tillie and myself before agreeing readily.
“Anything specific you want for dinner?” Kai asked, a slight slouch to his shoulders. I knew he was sad, but also understanding that she needed some time. Granted, they had no idea just how technologically challenged our omega was. “We don’t cook but Dean could go pick it up.”
Tillie snorted, laughter bursting out of her as she tried and failed to keep it together a few times.
“Why am I going to go get it?” I protested.
“You’re the one that mentioned food,” Aiden stated simply. “That’s always been the rule. Since college.”
“That’s true,” Jack piped up from the other side of the room.
“How about some Thai food?” Tillie suggested. “You can go pick us up something. They won’t deliver out here, and we’ll set up a movie while you’re gone.”
“Do I get a say in the movie selection?”
“You suggested going to get dinner,” Kai said, a spark of mischief in his dark gaze as I turned to look at him. “I’m sure we can find something amazing to watch.”
After being basically shooed out of the house I picked up our usuals and Tillie’s favorite. It didn’t take too long before I was back and in the house facing something far crazier than I expected.
Tillie was snuggled in with both Kai and Aiden on the couch. Jack was on the floor by her feet, all of them completely zoned in on The Princess Bride.
“Food’s here,” I called out. The way they jumped they must have been zoned in. Tillie yawned and stretched before stumbling into the bathroom. My whole pack looked like zombies.
My alpha instincts kicked in as I dished food up for everyone. Jack worked on drinks as the omega and betas slouched in their chairs.
“I see you all started without me,” I teased.
“Don’t act like you can’t quote it from start to finish,” Kai shot back, not looking the least bit sorry.
Dinner was oddly quiet as everyone ate. It had been a long day of moving boxes and setting things up. It wasn’t uncomfortable, just exhausted.
We cleaned up together before snuggling back in. I made it to the living room first and sat down against the corner of the sectional, pulling Tille against my chest. I shifted us slightly so she could rest and watch at the same time.
No one could even complain as they all stretched out on the floor around us. Jack took his spot at our feet and Kai and Aiden both laid on her other side, closer than I expected.
All guards were down and everyone pretended to watch, but within minutes even breathing filled the room. My eyes drifted closed. I was warm and content as my omega rested on me and our pack slept around us.
Aiden
No matter how exhausted I had been, my mind never rested for long. I woke up only an hour later and couldn’t fall back asleep.
