So, I was going to go shower and rub one out thinking of our sexy as fuck omega and imagine every fucking curve I wanted to lose myself in.

After a long shower and running out to get supplies, my head was in a much healthier place.

That and a quick conversation with my mom. She’d turned her journalism career into traveling and covering bigger topics, but that didn’t mean we stopped being close. She’d check in with texts and phone calls.

Sometimes, like today, just hearing her voice calmed me. She went on about some outbreak overseas and I listened, getting lost in her travels for a bit then telling her about our game progress.

She couldn’t stay on long, but after my break, and chatting with her, I was myself again.

Jack had rearranged the living room, pushing our two coffee tables together to make a bigger one, the couches shoved back and some floor cushions stationed around it.

I put ice in our stainless steel drink bucket and stuck the energy drinks inside to chill.

At least, I thought I had my shit together. Then Aiden walked down, hair still wet and droplets running down his neck. My eyes tracked the movement, before shifting to his shirt that was also clinging to his slender frame.

Fuck, just like that I was hard. It was even worse as he obliviously moved and dropped down on a cushion, stirring the air next to me so his scent hit me full force.

Green tea, honey, and almond are one of my favorite scents now. I could drown happily in it. Mix in his shea butter body wash and I was a goner.

I dropped quickly to my own seat and tried to focus on work. Jack gave me another look that was accompanied by a smirk.

Asshole. Dean was right, everyone but Aiden saw it.

Thankfully, my work was enough to get my head off my unrequited crush on my packmate.

Our game had taken form slowly over a night of shared beers and celebrations. A dream that had been in the works but we’d never truly given thought to until we’d landed our gig with Runefire Studios.

Now it was all possible.

“Does anyone else find it hilarious that we’re working on this cozy game with farming and ranching and we just found Tillie?”

The other two looked up at me, considering it, before Jack burst into laughter.

“Honestly, it’s perfect. She can tell us how wrong we are with things,” he said.

Tillie would, too. She wasn’t the type of omega to hold back.

Aiden chuckled but didn’t even look up as his hand glided over the sketchpad, getting his preliminary designs down.

It felt a bit like old times; all those late night work sessions and college evenings we spent working toward our dreams.

Those dreams had shifted over the years, and now we were closer than ever to achieving them.

If only I could get the courage to talk to Aiden.

Tillie

“Is everything okay with Kai?” I asked Dean as we got back to my farm. We shut the doors and walked out towards where the chickens were milling around. “He seemed a little… out of sorts when we left.”

“Probably not,” Dean replied with a laugh. His eyes crinkled as he shook his head. “Poor guy has it bad—”

“For Aiden, yeah. Wait… are you telling me—?”

“Aiden has absolutely no idea,” Dean finished for me, making me choke on laughter.

Dean grinned at the sound. “Poor guy is completely clueless and it’s driving Kai insane, but at the same time, he won’t just bluntly tell the other beta. Until he does, Aiden will have no idea at all that Kai feels any kind of way.”

“Really?” I asked as I shooed the last two lingering chickens into their coop then he locked the door to keep predators out.
