“Do you have anything else?” I asked, eyebrow raised as I took a long sip of my drink.

“I also brought our favorite movie and my favorite blankets for a bestie night.”

“Sold,” I grinned, pulling her out the door to grab it before we easily transformed my living room into a cozy omega spot. We both settled in and turned on the movie.

As the movie went on and the omega on screen found her pack, I couldn’t help but wonder if that was in the cards for me, too. Would this pack be ‘the one’? They might just be the kind of men to sweep me off my feet and make me forget any and all reservations I might have.

Something told me they were.

Kai

“What are you—?” Jack’s voice cut out as he saw the array of computer parts in front of me. I’d already had an assortment and had a list going for the rest that we needed. I wanted to get her a tower that would fit her aesthetic, but I didn’t know what her house was like.

Or her favorite colors.

Honestly, I knew very little about her.

“What does her house look like?” I asked Jack before he could question more. “I’m building her a computer but I want to make sure to get her one she’d actually like.”

“It’s a lot of different things,” Jack admitted. “Colorful, cute, cozy.”

“That’s not helpful,” I frowned, glancing up at the man who usually was meticulous with details.

“I’m not sure how to describe it,” he admitted.

I hopped up quickly and snagged my phone, typing in ‘top omega home decor styles.’ An array of different options popped up as Jack hovered over my shoulder.

“That one!” he said, jabbing a finger at my screen. It was a boho setup in bright colors.

“Was there a color you saw more of?” I prompted. His expression softened and he put a hand on my shoulder.

“Breathe. You’ll see it for yourself soon enough and courting doesn’t have to be insane. Just ask about her favorite colors and about herself when we see her tonight,” he offered.

I hated that I was being the unreasonable one. Everything about this felt like I was already falling behind.

What I needed was some snuggles to calm my mind but after Aiden had shoved my hand away yesterday I wasn’t certain he was up for it. The thought sent a familiar pang through my chest.

He was complicated and I could never truly tell where I stood with him.

“What are we doing for the date tonight?” I asked instead of addressing any of the insecurities floating through my mind.

“I was just thinking we’d meet up for dinner somewhere,” he replied. “Something easy.”

“Easy?” I asked incredulously. “Why would we want to do something just easy with her? We need something more.”

“‘More’ what?” Jack asked, confusion written clearly on his face as his scent intensified.

“Something more than a dinner somewhere as a plan,” I shot him a look. “Let’s ask the others and see what they say.”

“Well, I guess we could start with Dean? He grew up with her after all. Maybe he has a bit of insight.”

I clapped my hands and shook them gently.

“Perfect idea, alpha. Let’s go ask him.”

We walked down the hall and looked for Dean in his room, but the bed was neatly made and empty. I rolled my eyes at how pristine his space looked. Hell, it appeared as if no one even lived there at all.

“What are you two up to?” Aiden’s soft voice came from behind us.
