“Can confirm,” Jack said. “Leonard the rooster is quite the character.”
How in the hell did a bunch of gamers end up finding compatibility with a girl whose entire life was dedicated to the outdoors?
“Leonard?” Dean questioned.
“It fit him.” She shrugged and stood up to take her plate to the trash.
“Oh, I’ll take that,” Dean snagged it from her hand. “Don’t let my mom yell at me for not being a good host.”
“I think at this point they wouldn’t consider me a guest,” she argued. “But I’m not going to complain about getting to the fire first.”
She rushed over to where Dean’s dads were getting the fire started, what looked to be a regular argument about the correct way to start a fire was starting.
Jack joined us, all of us staring after Tillie as Sabrina walked by commenting that we all had it bad.
She wasn’t wrong and there was no way we were going to just let her go.
Dean
“Why didn't you mention that you were scent compatible with Tillie?” I asked Jack as soon as we got home.
“It didn’t process!” Jack protested, pushing his glasses up. “It was my first time and my brain just wasn’t working.”
“I can’t blame you there,” Kai commented as he and Aiden walked in last. “I don’t think my brain would be working at all after being with an omega like her.”
Seeing Tillie after being gone these few years had taken my breath away. She was gorgeous, that was my first thought. The omega had grown into herself in the time I’d been gone. A goddess that had soft curves everywhere and looked like someone I’d happily die worshiping.
But it wasn’t just her appearance that caught my attention.
Her humor and personality was still the same and she treated everyone with respect. Making Aiden feel at ease was no small task and she effortlessly did that.
Her fascination with Jack’s horribly, cringy pickup lines aside, she was perfect.
“She was awesome,” Kai commented, then reached for Aiden’s shoulder just to have the other beta step sideways. “What do you say?”
“She was amazing,” Aiden replied in a quiet voice. Kai narrowed his eyes as Aiden stepped further away from him. “I think I need to unwind from the dinner, though. It was great meeting your family, Dean.”
Aiden said he’d see us later as he walked away towards his room. Social settings weren’t his favorite, much preferring our small group or alone time. He’d probably throw on some headphones and zone out or game to decompress after that much socialization.
“He’s got it bad,” I commented as his door shut.
“I’ll ask her if we are still on for tomorrow and we can all coordinate,” Jack said, he had already pulled out his phone.
Mine was already blowing up with Jett and Sabrina giving me shit but I ignored them for now.
“Why don’t you ask if she’s good with a group chat?” I suggested, needing to have a way to talk to her directly.
Jack muttered an okay before he went his own way leaving me with Kai who had stood frozen staring after where Aiden had left.
The beta stood there for a moment before he let out a breath and turned to me before I could ask about his odd reaction.
“So, what was she like before?” Kai asked as he flopped back onto our couch. I thought it over as I went into the kitchen to grab a drink, coming back with two water bottles and handing one over.
“Just as feisty,” I said. “Even then I thought she was amazing, just too young for me. Now… all bets are off.”
“We’re courting her, right?” Kai demanded.
“Nothing could stop me. She’s ours,” I promised.
