“You like it here. I can tell.”
“I do. The city is nice and the team is great. The only thing missing is you.”
“Listen, Beau, I will always love Boston. It’s where I grew up and the place that shaped the person I am, but it’s not home. Not anymore. Home is wherever you are.”
My eyes sting with emotion again. “Dammit, Trav. You’re romantic too?”
He laughs. “For you.”
We cuddle together, soaking in this new information. We’re both sticky with lube and cum, but I don’t care. Travis is here and that’s everything.
“I came out to the team,” I say. “Most of them.”
“What did they say?”
“They acted like I said it was gonna rain. Totally chill.”
“Did anyone guess anything about us?”
“Nah. They might have their suspicions from the way I freaked out last month when you took a header on the ice.” I turn to face him a little. “They might figure it out for sure though if we’re in the same locker room.”
He nods. “Are you thinking we want to tell them?”
“Haven’t thought about it. That’s a lot at once though, if the trade goes through. Maybe we just be ourselves and if it comes out we handle it?”
“Should probably tell the coaching staff and PR, just in case.”
“True. We’ll figure it out once you get here.”
Trav’s face lights up. “I need to get with the realtor and find a place. We can spend the summer exploring the city and getting me settled in.”
I nod, biting my bottom lip for a second. “Would you maybe want to live with me?”
A slow smile pulls at his lips. “You want to move in together?”
“I mean, we practically lived together in your place in Boston. We could do that for real here.”
“We could.” He brushes his thumb across my chin. “But this place is kind of small for both of us.”
“It is. But with both our salaries…”
“We could get a bigger place.”
“With a huge balcony overlooking the lake.”
“And a grill.”
Smiling, I nod. “And a grill.”
Trav searches my eyes. “I’ve spent my whole adult life thinking I would never find something this real and satisfying. It feels amazing to know I was wrong.”
“I’m glad you were wrong.”
“Me too.” He presses his forehead to mine. “I love you, Beau.”
“I love you too, Travis.”
“Should we shower?”
