Levi waves to the press to let them know their time with us is up. We step from behind our podiums and I sling my arm around Beau’s shoulders to do a quick pose for the cameras before we walk offstage and leave the chaos behind us.

“Leave Boston?” I say with a snort as soon as we’re back in the hallway with the press on the other side of a closed door. “They must be smoking some primo crack to think I’d ever leave Boston.”

I leave my arm around Beau’s shoulders as we head down the hallway towards the exit, where the team bus is waiting for us. We climb on while our bags are being loaded.

“Fuck, I wish we were going home tonight. I want to sleep in my own damn bed,” I groan, sinking into the seat right next to Beau and letting my head loll onto his shoulder with exhaustion that hits me all at once now that the adrenaline from the game has worn off.

“One more night.” He pats my thigh reassuringly, and then leaves his hand there without either of us giving it much thought. We’ve sat just like this on a million roadies before, but something about it feels different now that I’ve seen him jerk off. It’s not weird though, is it? Why should it be?

I yawn and Beau squeezes my leg and yawns too, both of us chuckling.

“You two had better wake the fuck up. It’s a cellie tonight—drinks, puck bunnies, enjoying the spoils of all of our hard work.” Harlson grabs my shoulder from the seat behind us and shakes it playfully.

“I’m awake,” I groan, even though my eyelids are starting to droop and the rumble of the bus engine really is making me want to drift right off.

“Drop our stuff off at the hotel, get out of these suits, then we’ll go for one drink,” Beau bargains quietly so only I can hear him.

Normally, I would be on the party train, and I would probably be the one trying to convince Beau that we should stay out for more than just one drink after such an epic win tonight, but his plan sounds nice. We can catch up on another episode or two of Sin City Cars, order room service, and chill out. Sounds like fucking heaven, actually.

“Deal.” I hold my fist up for a bump to seal the deal, and I let my eyes drift closed and my head rest heavily on his shoulder for the rest of the short ride back to our hotel.

NINE

BEAU

Home sweet fucking home.

The feeling of unlocking my apartment door after a long roadie is like heaven. I can’t wait to sleep in my own bed, chill on my couch, sit around in my underwear, and have quiet time with my best friend.

Trav is right next to me, leaning against the elevator wall, his eyes closed. He looks so happy and peaceful right now. He loves being home even more than I do.

“What are we doing for dinner?” he murmurs sleepily.

“Mmm. I’ve got some chicken breasts in the freezer.”

“Cool. I’ll do a grocery order for some veg.” He opens his eyes as a slow smirk spreads across his face. “Can I interest you in a rewatch of Fight Club?”

I chuckle. “Always. See you in a few hours?”

He nods, and as the elevator doors open to our floor, lightly punches my arm.

We walk together to our apartments directly across from each other. It wasn’t my plan, but while I was apartment hunting this unit came open in Trav’s building and it just made sense. It’s a perfect location, close to all the restaurants and shopping you want, a fifteen-minute drive to the arena, and thirty to the airport. Plus, it has a nice view. The only thing that would make it better is a balcony so we could enjoy some outdoor space when the weather is nice, but you can’t have it all.

Trav lingers at his door for a second, his smile different from usual in a way I can’t describe.

“What?” I ask.

“Nothing. See you soon.”

He disappears inside his apartment and I dip inside mine too, kicking off my dress shoes and more than ready to peel out of this stupid suit. I chose my dark navy suit because it’s the most comfortable, not realizing Trav brought his burgundy suit. Together, we look like we planned it because his suit has navy pinstripes. Harlson said we looked like we were going to prom.

I snort a laugh as I peel off my jacket and shuffle to my bedroom, stopping to hike up the thermostat on my way. I don’t get much sun on my side of the building, so it’s a little chilly in here.

After getting naked and draping my suit over the armchair in my bedroom, I pad to the bathroom for a shower to wash off the travel. As soon as the steamy water hits and the jets massage my tired muscles, all the stress of the road trip falls away and my mind takes me back to the night I watched Trav jerk off.

Things I never thought I’d be doing with a man, for sure, and definitely not with Trav, but damn, I’d be lying to myself if I didn’t admit that it was hot as fuck. Obviously, I’ve never seen another man get himself off, so I didn’t know it could be so sexy to see it happen.

Trav was into it too, unless he’s just horny for everything or a really good actor. I don’t know how you fake a hard-on though. Or the way his cum flooded his hand.
