This motherfucker.
“You come willingly and I’ll make it fast. Won’t play with you like I did your knockoff.”
I stay where I am, not making a move or sound. I’ve got my eyes trained on the doorway and pray to fuck this rifle is loaded.
“You should have heard how your husband offered anything in exchange for his life. Was pathetic. Told us we could do anything we wanted with her, and we did. Made him watch us do her up the ass. Bitch loved it. And that pretty boy creamed his pants getting off on watching. I think I could have fucked him, too. Played with them for hours. I wonder if you give head as good as she did? I was locked up a long time, but in there any hole will do.” He chuckles in a dark tone.
“Nutted on his face before I blew his brains out.”
Sick fuck.
“Last chance to make it fast and painless. Here Kitty, Kitty.”
I’ve had enough. I pump the rifle and fire off a round.
“Woo, let’s go,” Donavon calls out and fires a shot of his own, and I hear a thump. “Yahtzee. Got one.”
Joe. Fuck. Fucking fuck. I brought this fight to his door, and I’m going to finish it. I’m going to kill this motherfucker if it’s the last thing I do.
Chapter Seventeen
Kitty
I’m huddled under a desk with come leaking down my thighs while an evil bastard describes what he did to Zane and Blair in detail. I’m going to throw up.
I’ve got my hand clamped over my throat, biting back my tears. It’s pitch black. I can’t see a thing and shots keep sounding in different directions. I don’t even know if Dread is still in the room with me. I can’t.
I can’t sit here like a duck. I crawl around the side of the desk, pressing my back to the side. I make out a shape that resembles a person near the doorway and hope its Dread or Joe.
“Here Kitty, Kitty,” Donavon taunts.
Part of me wants to get this over with and say, screw it. The other half is scared shitless.
Dread’s bag is practically right in front of me, and I wonder if I can grab it or get to it without drawing attention to myself. I know his pocketknife is in the side pocket. I’d feel a little better with something to defend myself with if it comes to that. I take the chance and creep forward. I grab the zipper and hope like hell it doesn’t make the loud zzz sound. I reach inside and come out with his handgun. I unlock the safety and wait. I don’t like guns, but I know my way around them considering I grew up around bikers.
I know you never point it at someone unless you intend to use it.
I hope I don’t have to, but I want to be ready. Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.
Donavon Miller took Mellie, Zane, and Blair. He’s not taking anyone else I love.
“Last chance. Come out and play, Kitty.”
Shots fire in the hallway and then there’s a thud. “Woo, let’s go,” Donavon calls out. “Yahtzee. Got one.”
My heart sinks to my stomach. Please let Joe be okay. Dread said he’s his only family outside of the club. I can’t be the reason he loses him.
This ends now. I move to the couch and crouch down, my back to the backside of it.
Whoever was standing at the doorway is gone, and I’m in here alone.
What if Dread was shot, and it was Joe protecting me?
This can’t be happening. How did he find us?
“Be a good little pussycat,” he taunts.
Another round fires, and another sound thumps that sounds like a body hitting the ground.
