“C’mere, Kitty.”
“I don’t know if I want to.”
“Probably a smart choice.”
I close my eyes once more and wonder what he’d do if I scooted closer.
Chapter Fifteen
Kitty
I awaken with a warm, hard body pressed against mine. Dread has an arm snug around my waist and a leg thrown over mine, pinning me in place. His face is buried in the side of my neck.
I try to move his arm, but he tightens his hold. “Honey, I gotta pee.”
“Shh,” his lips brush the word against my neck.
“Dread.”
“Let’s go back to you calling me honey.”
“Hmm.”
“Like it when you call me honey.”
“You do?”
“Yeah, Kitty. I like it a fuckuvalot.”
I swallow hard.
He curls a palm to my breast and kisses my neck. I roll onto my back. He’s staring down at me with sleepy eyes. I touch a hand to the stubble dusting his jaw. “Mornin’, honey.”
He grins, then his mouth is on mine. His tongue wages war with mine. Dread’s a great kisser.
“Not that I’m complaining, but what was that for?”
“Just felt like kissing you.”
“Do it again.”
“Thought you had to pee.”
I do need to go, but this feels like the Dread I danced with at Tonky’s and I’ve missed him. “I can wait.”
His chest shakes with laughter. “All right, baby. I’ll kiss you again.” And he does. It’s soft with lots of tongue.
I don’t know what’s happening between us this morning. Last night he shared a little about his dad. I liked that big time.
He pulls away and hands me a roll of toilet paper.
“How romantic,” I tell him.
“Don’t go too far,” he says and hands me his pocketknife. I raise a brow. “There’s wild critters out there and a psycho with a penchant for murder is hunting you.”
“Right. Thanks for the reminder.”
“Want me to hold your hand?”
