“Yep.”

“What did you do?”

He glares at me. “That’s a bit personal, Princess. You going to share and tell too?”

“Sure, what do you want to know?”

“How do you curl your fingers inside yourself when you are fucking yourself at night? Do you scream my name?” He says it so crudely, but I see the truth.

He’s baiting me again.

“Up and to the right a little. It feels so good, but no, I haven’t screamed your name. You haven’t given me a reason to. A man earns that privilege. Your turn.”

He mutters a curse under his breath before he looks me in the eye. “I fucked my brother’s girl.”

My brows rise. “Why would you do that?”

The betrayal of it has me wondering if I can trust the man. What kind of person does that?

“It sounded like fun at the time. Pussy ain’t a reason to lose the patch, at least not unclaimed pussy. So I was exiled, and she was kicked to the curb. Here I am now.”

Something about his answer doesn’t sit right with me, but I let it slide.

“Good to know. Reaper knows?”

“Of course. He called Remi and got the full story before he accepted me here. I’ve paid for my sins, Princess.”

I shake my head. “I can’t imagine that you’ve changed much, though. What’s to stop you from doing that to one of the brothers here?”

He shrugs. “No pussy worth the hassle here.”

I bristle at his words. The way he’s looking at me says he is including me in that.

I think I’m done with nice Evelyn for the night.

“Well, that’s a blessing then. Keep your dick in your pants if you don’t want to lose it.”

“Not an issue.”

Storming from the room, I hate that I feel disappointed in him. I don’t care about him, or at least I shouldn’t. Yet here I am wishing he was a better man, but for what? The club?

Reaper knows what he is doing. I trust him.

So why am I so bothered?

CHAPTER SIX

Hades

Leaning against the window frame, I stare outside, studying the street below. Outside of a couple making out in their car and a delivery driver, the street is quiet. Even after being here as long as I have been, I can’t help but be amazed at the normalness this street holds despite being so close to Sin City. It’s like two worlds are backed up against each other, separated by a street.

Evelyn grunts, making my eyes dart to her.

She’s in a little crop top and yoga pants as she scrubs at her countertops like they’ve personally offended her. Her dark hair is pulled up into a messy bun that looks like it’s seconds from falling into her face. I can’t help but smile as I watch her. She’s an anomaly for sure. It’s her day off, and instead of lounging around watching reality TV, she buzzes around her house, unable to sit still.

“You finally run out of things to clean?” I ask when she tosses a cleaning wipe in the trashcan.

She shoots me a glare. “I’m bored and cooped up. What did you expect me to do? Become a pile of lazy bones and watch reruns of my favorite show?”
