Kristy
I couldn’t help it. Justin looked really good in the moonlight in his blue button-down and black slacks, and I had a lot of nervous energy that needed to be burned off. I wanted to feel his five o’clock shadow against my skin.
Everywhere.
Was it completely inappropriate?
Probably.
Was I worried he was going to reject me?
A little.
But I was willing to risk it as I stood on my tiptoes and pressed my lips against his, uninvited.
I had a history of leaping before I looked.
I braced myself for him to ask me what the hell I was doing, but instead, his arms came around my waist, and he tugged me tighter against him with a soft moan.
Then it was game on.
Our kiss went from soft and tentative to frantic with need: tongues tangling, my fingers dug into his dark hair, and his hand slid under my shirt to hold my bare back while I grinded against his cock over his pants.
I needed more.
Lifting the hem of my tee, I moved to pull it over my head, but he stopped me.
“Wait,” he whispered through his ragged breath. “Are you sure about this?”
“One hundred percent,” I replied as I tried to lift my shirt again, but he put his hand on my arm to stop me.
“Then we need to go inside.” He made a point of looking at his next-door neighbor’s upstairs window. “And close the blinds.”
I glanced around at the two-story houses that could easily see in his backyard—including mine in the distance, just as I’d suspected.
I reached for his hand and pulled him toward the door. “Good idea; we don’t need to be part of tomorrow’s gossip.”
“Yeah, they’re going to have enough to talk about at the diner over breakfast without adding us to the mix.”
My best friend being kidnapped by Earl Schilling, her creepy landlord, and his nephew, Joe, for one. Adam had briefly filled me in on Lainey’s ordeal and it’d made my blood boil. It was a good thing Earl was dead, or I might be tempted to go do it myself.
Brian being shot rescuing her would be another topic of conversation. And probably, the cherry on top—that Adam and Lainey were an item.
I definitely didn’t need to add to it that I banged Lainey’s date. Maybe even against a wall.
Although a counter would work, too.

I half-thought once we’d had a break from our make out session that Kristy would change her mind.
Instead, she walked inside, and rather than closing the blinds, she simply hit the light switch, peeled her shirt over her head, and as the moonlight guided her to the kitchen counter, unclasped her bra and dropped it on the ground.
Then the minx tugged her yoga pants down her thighs and bent over at the waist to pull them all the way off.
I was so fucking hard.
