Justin

Technically, I wasn’t available. I was scheduled to work Saturday night, but I had a multitude of favors that I was prepared to call in.

There was no way I was missing dinner with her.

“Rob was supposed to take me to Maxfield’s tonight, but obviously that didn’t happen. Do you want to go there?”

“I mean, it’s kind of fancy…”

I thought it was perfect for our first date.

“They have the best steak in town, and I really had been looking forward to getting one.”

“Fine, but we’re going Dutch.”

I plunked my glass down and stared at her. “Yeah, that’s not gonna happen.”

“I have my own money.”

“That’s great, but I asked you out, I’m paying.”

She opened her mouth like she had a retort, and I growled, “Don’t argue with me about this, woman.”

Her pupils dilated and I noticed her nipples poking out under the flimsy pajama top.

Perfect.

The first night we were together, I could tell she wanted a man who could handle her. Even as she’d pushed for control, I’d suspected it’d been a test to see if she could get me to bend.

I respected the hell out of her, but I was an alpha male. She was not in charge.

I think that was exactly what she’d been looking for but had never found.

Until now.

She snapped her mouth closed but glowered at me as she picked up her shake and took another drink.

I wasn’t buying she was really pissed off, so with a smirk, I told her, “Good girl.”

Of course, she had to sass back, “Now can you tell me what your big secret is, so I can get back to being a bad girl?”

When Justin lifted the hem of his pajama pants, his metal legs were not at all what I’d been expecting.

I wasn’t sure how I should respond. I was surprised, yet at the same time, it didn’t seem like that big of a deal—at least not to me. I mean, his cock obviously hadn’t been affected. I didn’t know if he wanted me to be sympathetic, shocked, apathetic, or….?

“I had no idea you wore prosthetic legs. I feel like that’s something people would have noticed in gym class—and talked about.”

He chuckled, probably because he knew it was true.

“No one knows. It happened six years ago, when I was stationed in the Middle East with a Marine Battalion. The medic tent was hit with an RPG, and I was inside along with three Marines. We all survived, but not without life-altering injuries.”

“I’m so sorry that happened to you. But why have you kept it a secret?”

“You know how this town is. I didn’t want pity or for there to be any question of whether or not I could hack the demands of my job.”
