“Sign me up.”

“I will.”

I watched as she slid out of the bed and landed on her knees right beside it. She beckoned to me, crooking her finger slowly while licking her lips. It didn’t take much prodding. I was standing in front of her in mere seconds.

“Your reward for always being so thoughtful,” she told me right before covering the tip of my dick in warmth and wetness.

Slowly, she moved her tongue over my rigidness. Her breath was warm when she popped me out of her mouth and blew softly on the opening. Pre-cum oozed out, and she swiped it up with her tongue, opening her mouth wide to show it to me before humming softly. Then she slid me into her throat, letting me feel her tonsils while she gagged, but she didn’t stop for a long moment.

“Uuhmm. You taste so good, Griff.”

I bit down on my bottom lip and fought back the hiss that tried to escape when the head of my dick disappeared into her mouth again. I fought with myself to keep from grabbing her hair.

She licked my shaft from the tip to the base, then nuzzled her face in my balls. I didn’t expect her to do that. Jealousy gripped my chest for a second. Who the fuck taught her how to be so good at sucking dick? Was there some other nig—. She interrupted my thought when her moist mouth enveloped my entire dick.

“Shit!” slipped from my mouth before I could catch it. I was about to lose control.

Her small hands were on my shaft, working it while she paid attention to the head and occasionally swallowed me whole. She wasn’t talking, but I could feel the reverence for me through the way she was taking her time with my dick. She wasn’t rushing or treating the act like something she couldn’t wait to get through. She was licking and sucking like she had all the time in the world. She hummed on my dick like it literally was the best tasting thing she’d ever had in her mouth.

Whatever I felt for Anistyn before she kneeled in front of me, that shit had just multiplied by a thousand. This was my baby, my life-partner, my home, and she was giving me head like I was the king of her world.

“Ani, the way you came into my life,” I gritted out from behind clenched teeth, “it wasn’t expected. But there is no way in hell I’m coming up off you. You’re mine, baby. You’re mine.”

Her watery gaze landed on my face, and our eyes met. Even as the messy bun she’d created with her box braids unraveled, saliva trickled down her chin, and the girth of my dick stretched her swollen lips to their limits, she was beautiful. My normally, so put-together Anistyn looked so disheveled and so fucking radiant. My hands went into her hair. I pumped into her mouth while she hollowed out her cheeks. Moments later, my release shot into her mouth, and she swallowed hungrily.

After I’d returned her generosity by trying to eat the lining out of her pussy, and we both cleaned up, we lay in the bed, chilling with each other.

“Can I ask you a question?”

I was on my back, feeling relaxed as hell, just staring up at the ceiling. “What’s up?”

“Does your family ever talk about what happened to Cecil Hart after he left my aunt jilted at the altar? I mean,” she went on quickly, “I know what happened with Anna Clara. I know she went on to live a good life. I’m presuming that Cecil did too.”

“Tell me about Anna Clara. You say she was your aunt?”

She nodded. “Yeah. Her middle brother, Daniel Melrose, was my”—she seemed to concentrate as her face scrunched up—“I think he was my five times great grandfather. Anyway, Benjamin Melrose, . . . Dr. Benjamin Melrose, he was Anna Clara and Daniel’s daddy. He didn’t waste any time making moves after old Cecil did his big one by not showing up to the church.”

I couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped me. “What he do? Put a hit out on Cecil?”

She snickered. “If only. Nah. He and his wife, Elizabeth Ann, got in contact with her family. Elizabeth Ann’s family—the Searcy’s—was impressive as well. Benjamin met her at Hale-Williams University in Virginia. He was, of course, studying medicine. Elizabeth Ann was apparently some kind of math phenom. He swept her off her feet, convinced her to marry him, then settled in Fort Jackson. Apparently, the town was starting to show signs of growth, and what they didn’t have was a doctor who would see black patients. They wooed him, and he settled there in Fort Jackson to head up the local medical clinic.”

“That’s crazy. I never knew your family wasn’t originally from Fort Jackson.”

“Nope. Benjamin was from Chicago. He came from a family of doctors. Both his father and grandfather were doctors. Elizabeth Ann’s family founded the first black-owned bank in Virginia Shores, Virginia. They owned practically the entire town. Anna Clara was shipped off to Virginia not even a week after the failed wedding. There was no way that Dr. Benjamin was going to let his precious firstborn princess be subjected to the humiliation of being jilted.

“She enrolled in college, where she met and married a brilliant doctor who reminded her of her daddy. They went on to live a good life in Virginia Shores. She gave him five healthy children, and he gave her a lifestyle that was similar to the one she’d grown up in. My relatives like to tell the story of how she would come back to Fort Jackson for the holidays with her handsome husband and pretty children. They would all be dressed in their finery, just rubbing her good life in the Harts’ collective faces.” She giggled.

I shook my head. “So your family loved the thought that my family had to take her success on the chin?”

“Something like that. Did Cecil die alone and penniless? Because that would make every member of my family smile.” She grinned at me.

“Nah, he didn’t. Sorry y’all can’t get your collective rocks off on his misfortune.”

“Touchy-touchy.”

I laughed. “Nah. Turned out that my six times great grandfather, Leo Hart, used to have this guy who made all the horseshoes for the horses. This guy had a daughter. He was a farrier; I think that’s what they called people who made horseshoes. He made a decent living, . . . an honest living, but Cecil was the son of a judge. Farriers smell like metals and horses. Cecil smelled like imported fragrances and shit. They were from two different classes. Marrying a Melrose would have elevated both Cecil and the Hart family. Marrying a farrier’s daughter didn’t do anything for anybody. But I guess he loved her. The night before the wedding, he apparently packed up his shit, grabbed the girl he couldn’t live without, and hightailed it to Atlanta.”

Her hand flew to her mouth and covered it. “Oh, wow. He escaped an arranged marriage for love? Wow. Did they live happily ever after?”
