“He wasn’t sure. We can sort it out when we’re not busy playing the newlywed game.” Toren finished his cigarette and smashed the butt into the ashtray. “Though, I think the newlywed game might be lower impact than the questions they have for me.”
“I told them to stop.”
“I don’t mind.”
They both stood, and Andrew took Toren into his arms, brushing a kiss against the corner of his mouth.
“I mind.”
“They just want the best for you,” he whispered, turning enough so that their lips could meet head-on.
“You’re what’s best for me.”
Toren hummed his agreement.
“Do you know what else would be best for me?” Andrew asked.
“Tell me.” Toren’s hands skated down his back, settling on his hips.
Andrew hadn’t planned to have this conversation, but the moment felt right and he didn’t want to let it get away.
“If you lived with me,” he said.
“Are you asking me to move in with you?”
“I think so, yes.”
Toren didn’t say anything for a beat, parting his lips to deepen the kiss instead. It was still chaste, considering the things they did and the way they kissed, but it made Andrew’s blood boil just the same.
“Okay,” Toren said.
“Are you serious?”
“Are you?”
“Completely.” Andrew grabbed Toren’s face and kissed him harder, kissed him the way they both wanted and both loved. He kissed Toren until he moaned, and until Toren’s hips bucked against his, half-hard cock pressing against Andrew’s thigh.
“Please don’t make me go back in there with a hard-on,” Toren begged, breaking the kiss and pressing their foreheads together. “It’s one thing at Rapture, another thing in your living room.”
Andrew nodded, adjusting both of their growing erections into a position that felt on the passable side of indecent.
“You’ve made me the happiest,” Andrew whispered, tangling their fingers together and leading Toren back into the house. “And I told them to stop being assholes, so the rest of the night should be easy.”
“I don’t mind them,” Toren said again. “I have good intentions with you, and I hope they can see that. I want them to know it.”
They made it back to the living room and Toren sank down onto the couch. Holt and Sawyer had eaten their way through half the meat on the plate, which for no discernible reason amused Andrew to no end.
“Toren is moving in with me,” Andrew told both of his friends.
“Makes sense,” Holt agreed.
“Surprised you waited this long,” Sawyer said.
Toren laughed under his breath and patted Andrew’s thigh.
Everything was going to be all right after all, he realized. Dave was in the past, Toren was his future, and nothing in the world would ever be better than that.
