“Do you mind if I smoke?” he asked.

“Do you mind if I don’t?”

Toren pulled a cigarette out of his pack and lit it, puffing the smoke—again—away from Andrew.

“I don’t mind it by the way,” Andrew told him. “The smell of it, I mean. The taste.”

Toren swallowed hard, nodded his understanding. “I haven’t done this in a while.”

“That’s fine.”

“Should we get the basics out of the way?”

Andrew gave his glass a little shake, taking a drink. “Would it be mean of me to ask you what you meant?”

“A bit,” he admitted, cheeks burning.

“I prefer to top,” Andrew said. “And I prefer to call the shots.”

Toren’s mouth went dry, and it wasn’t from the cigarette.

“What about you?” Andrew prompted.

“I’m relatively versatile,” he admitted, voice cracking.

“Do you like being told what to do?”

Toren was so rusty about sex, he was sure if Andrew tried to fold him in two, his bones would crumble under the strain of it. It had been so long since Toren had allowed himself to be intimate with someone, he didn’t have a proper answer.

“I don’t know,” he finally went with. “Maybe it’s okay for sex.”

Andrew then scooted Toren’s drink closer to his hand. “Alright. Drink then, Toren. Relax.”

“I said for sex,” he murmured, but he picked up the glass anyway and took a drink.

“I know, and isn’t this foreplay?”

Toren held Andrew’s gaze over the rim of his glass, cock thickening as he took another swallow.

CHAPTER 2

Andrew

Even though they’d met less than an hour before, there were three things Andrew already knew about the man whose hotel room he was currently occupying.

He was breathtakingly gorgeous with dark brown hair shoved back from his face and eyes like obsidian. He didn’t have a single tattoo as far as Andrew could tell, interesting considering his former brother-in-law’s profession. And above all else, Andrew knew this with unfailing certainty, Toren Ember wanted to get laid. Andrew was also relatively confident that while Toren might be on the bottom edge of versatile, he wasn’t on the dominant side of things at all. Andrew wasn’t sure at first, the way Toren had snapped at him in the car raised a question mark, but by the time they’d made it back to the hotel and up to Toren’s room, there were no lingering doubts.

Andrew put everything else in his life out of his head and clinked the edge of his glass against Toren’s. They both finished their drinks, Toren shifting his weight constantly like he wanted to crawl out of his skin.

“Toren,” he said simply. “Stop moving.”

And Toren did.

Foreplay, indeed.

Andrew downed the rest of his vodka and set the glass down, then stood, putting his body between the concrete balcony wall and Toren, still in his seat. It was late, the pool was quiet, and the sound of Andrew pulling down his zipper sounded loud as a gunshot.

“Is this okay?” he asked.
