Normally, I’d call one of the women to de-stress. They’d get me off and know just how I like it. They wouldn’t expect anything more.
Maybe I should do that.
I’ve made it clear to Elena where we stand.
I grab my phone and send a text.
ELENA
Nothing like waking up the morning after your wedding and overhearing that Suit spent the night with the club girls in the pole room. Luckily, Blade was in the kitchen when I wandered in there, taking my mind off Suit. I made him some breakfast and even helped him hack into a security camera he was struggling with. Blade is a good-looking man with his curly dark hair, green eyes, and glasses. If I could pick anyone from the clubhouse of bikers, it would be him. He’s muscular and ripped but also has this sexy-nerdy vibe, like Clark Kent. Angel is also very attractive to me, but his energy is very leave-me-the-fuck-alone tortured hero.
After a quick gym workout and a shower, Isla comes to my door. Her beautiful daughter, Natalia, is in her arms, and she tells me we’re all going shopping. So now I’m sitting in the back seat of their car with Xanthe, Atiana, and Lu. Isla and Meredith are in the front.
“Does Skull have Natalia?” I ask Isla.
“Yeah, she’s with Skull and Bones,” she replies, glancing behind at me. “Ora had an appointment for Zade, but she’s going to meet us there afterward.”
Apparently, there is a club party tonight, and some other bikers from other chapters will be there. I didn’t bring any clothes appropriate for something like this, so I’m glad they suggested a shopping trip.
When we get to the shopping mall, Meredith parks the car and checks her phone. “Suit messaged me, asking for your number, Elena.”
“He doesn’t even have your number?” Xanthe asks, frowning.
“Nope. He didn’t ask, and it’s been kind of hectic since I got here,” I admit as I get out of the car. However, everyone else managed to get my number.
Even Blade.
But not my own husband.
“I sent it to him,” Meredith says as we step into the first shop. I eye the black leather and slowly blink.
My phone beeps, and I glance down at the text.
Suit
You didn’t take my card. Send me your bank details, and I’ll send you some money.
Unbeknownst to my father, I have my own bank account and money. I helped handle the family money, but I didn’t dare touch any of it. No, I made my own money.
Elena
Thanks, but I don’t need it.
Suit
I’m your husband. I will pay for anything you need.
My brow furrows. He really likes to pick and choose when he wants to be my husband.
Elena
Thank you.
What else am I meant to say?
I don’t want his money, but I am living under his roof, and I am not paying any bills. I would likely have to get a job and start contributing. I can’t expect to live off him when he clearly doesn’t want me. In the Bratva, the man would provide everything, and I wouldn’t be expected to open my purse at all. But I didn’t marry someone in the Bratva.
I married a biker who opposed this marriage as much as I did.
