All of that might very well go up in smoke now.
He’d planned to propose last night. He’d paid a very hefty amount to get them closer to the tree to do it.
A baby should be something we’re all celebrating; instead, I’m worried if there even is a baby anymore.
I have no idea what her condition was after the crash. The only person who saw her was Addison, and I don’t want to ask her; it would only upset her. Not to mention she’s a child; she could remember wrong, or worse, she might remember every terrible detail, and I’m not sure I’m ready to hear them.
The room is quiet, shock and fear waging war on each face I look at before Des finally takes another step back, shaking his head.
“I have to find her,” he declares before he turns and runs from the room. The front door slams shut a moment later, the sound ringing through the otherwise quiet house.
“Should one of us go after him?” I ask, worried about his current mental state, especially because I know he’s going to hop on his bike.
“No, he needs some time. Maybe he can find something while he’s out. We have enough shit to worry about.” Alex buries his head in his hands for a moment before he turns his attention back to his phone, and Oliver turns back to his laptop.
Nathan looks up, holding my gaze for a moment, and I don’t need the ability to mind-read to know what he’s saying. I hear him loud and clear.
We’re going to get her back, and everyone who touched her is going to fucking die for it.
Idon’t know where I’m going, but I know I couldn’t stay there a second longer. It was already torture coming home without her; the house felt cold, and my chest aches as if I’m missing a part of me.
Now it’s two pieces, and I’m pretty sure I’m missing more of me than I have here.
A baby.
Kat is pregnant, and it doesn’t matter whose baby it is biologically; it’s my baby…
The woman of my dreams, who I love more than words, was taken. She did it to save Addy; that’s Father's best guess, and while I’m sure he’s right, I can see her doing exactly that. I still hate it.
How dare she put herself in danger.
The wind whips around me, and I know it was dumb to take the bike in the snow, but the streets are plowed, and I needed the freedom I only get on the bike to think.
It’s cold even with my gear and gloves. It doesn’t take long before I can’t feel my fingers, but that might also just be from the grip I have on the handlebars.
It was dark out when I left, but the sky is beginning to lighten, and still I’m just going, afraid that if I stop, I’ll break.
I can’t afford to break right now, though. Kat needs us to save her.
She put her life on the line to keep Addy safe, being the mother she promised to be for her.
I know she’ll be great with our future children; we just need to bring her home so I can make sure she never leaves again.
I never thought I wanted kids until Kat; not even with Natasha had I really considered it, and honestly, that was probably a blessing.
When my father mentioned getting Kat pregnant a few months ago, the idea was so damn appealing.
To think that one of us succeeded is so fucking exciting. I can’t deny that I kind of want to know who won the ‘race,’ even if just for bragging purposes.
My excitement is outshone by my annoyance with myself.
I’m already failing them, my future son or daughter.
No! I physically shake the thought away.
Kat needs us; they both do.
Carter and Trevor are both dead; she was supposed to be safe; we promised her.
