I stood there a second, smiling at the wood, and walked in. They both bounced to their feet.

“I will not fuck you tonight. I need you focused and needy tomorrow.”

Oallian looked like he might cry.

CHAPTER 15: OALLIAN

“Liminal Hall of Wizardry and Supplication. I suppose I’m the supplication side of that,” I said, looking around in wonder. “Or do you think it means we’re supposed to bow down to the wizards.”

Connor shot me a look.

“You do not need to read every sign out loud,” Kessrin said, like the adorable little kiss ass he was.

I’d tried to explain to him that signs were quite fun and interesting, especially when they mentioned sex stuff, but neither of them understood my argument. They were probably too busy thinking mission logistics or something.

But I couldn’t think about logistics because the entire situation was making my cock spring to life against its cage.

The Liminal Hall was beautiful, clearly built to make you gasp in delight and wonder. Even Vyranthos woke, and I felt his greed as we gazed at the pretty things. He was probably wondering if there was any decor worth stealing for the hoard, but I was just enjoying the spectacle of it all. The entry room glowed with hanging glass orbs full of soft golden light, and the walls were deep blue velvet worked with silver thread, a low sweet tune from a band in the corner making all of it glitter.

Okay, maybe that was my imagination.

A man in beautiful gray robes met us with a bow and named a tithe that Vyranthos recoiled at. He never liked paying for things that could be stolen. Connor paid it without blinking, telling the man that it was an honor, and we were swept through into the restaurant.

“Oallian,” Connor murmured. “You’re vibrating.”

“I’m endeavoring to fit in,” I said, pointing at another submissive who was almost as bouncy as me. “See? Plenty of people here are vibrating.”

Connor did not look like he believed me, but he said it was fine anyway, muttering something about wizard fanboys being just as weird as me.

The restaurant was full of the best-dressed people I had ever seen. About half of them were dressed as wizards, but I suspected most were more costumes than evidence of true magical gifts. There were robes, sigil-stitched sashes, cloaks with silver clasps, and one woman in a pointed hat that would have looked dashing on my curls.

The other half were dressed like Kessrin or like me: pets in harness, consorts in jewelry and finery. There were collars everywhere, and assets on display, though no assets I could see were quite so fine as Kessrin’s abs outlined in silver chain. I licked my lips, wishing he’d let me spend at least a little time licking him this morning, just to sate the urge.

At the center of the room stood a gilded box surrounded by candles, like a little shrine, and people kept rising from their tables to put money in it where everyone could see them do it.

“Could I have a coin?” I asked Connor. “That looks fun!”

Vyranthos did not agree, but for once, my control was strong enough that I didn’t need to fight the dragon inside me. All I felt was a mild distaste at the idea of putting money in a box that one wasn’t planning to later steal.

Kessrin handed me a coin from a pouch, and I skipped over and put it in the box, and it gave a very satisfying plink. I waited for fanfare, but there was no fanfare.

How disappointing.

“Perhaps a wish has been granted?” I asked.

“You never know how the Liminal Order will reward your supplication,” the robed man said, turning and gesturing to a low table surrounded by cushioned benches with high backs. “Here are your seats. We will bring the traditional Liminian tea by in a moment.”

“And an assortment of small bites,” Connor said as he guided Kessrin to a bench, then sat beside him. “To sample the chef’s cuisine.”

“Of course, Sir,” the robed man said before hurrying off.

“Small bites?” I asked.

“A place that serves the traditional tea would serve the traditional Liminian small plates. I did my research. Sort of.” Connor grinned at me, then glanced around before arranging a cushion between his feet and giving a gentle tug on the leash. “Sit, Oallian.”

I took my place between his knees, grinning up at him, because I very much liked this. It put me in the optimal position to do naughty things. I stared at his naughty things and waited for instructions, watching as he leaned in and whispered something to Kessrin, who shivered and pressed closer.

“Eyes on me, sweetheart, not my dick.”
