“This meringue is the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth,” she said with a moan.

“There are so many dick jokes I could say.” He shook his head. “But we’ve had a good night, and I don’t want to ruin it.”

They’d had a great night. There was no talk of their smoking hot kisses. Instead, they’d laughed over work stories and family history while catching scenes of The Devil Wears Prada, which was the movie playing on the big projector. This restaurant deserved more than its own day recognized by the city, which Samantha found out was September eighteenth. Her goal was to celebrate it every year, just like Fourth of July and Thanksgiving.

“You have to say one now,” she urged him.

Nate arched an eyebrow in disbelief. “The last time we had a dick situation, you shut me down and didn’t talk to me. Are we saying dick jokes are on the table now?”

“Shut up.” She laughed. “You know damn well the only reason I stopped us from going further was because of all the damage control it would require.”

“But are you saying kissing is okay if it doesn’t lead to sex?”

She was close to climbing over the wooden table to get to him for more of his kisses. Public displays and all. Kissing Nate was the best thing she’d ever experienced.

“Perhaps,” she said coyly. “Only if your dick jokes make me laugh.”

“You think that meringue is the best thing in your mouth, wait until you pair it with my cock.”

Her laughter was uncontrollable. Kissing Nate was amazing, but it was hard to take him serious as a dirty talker. Because…well, because it was Nate.

When their waiter came over, he paid the bill. Once it was just the two of them at the table, he shot her a cocky grin. “You do realize this means you put kissing back on the table.”

Thank God for that. And all it took was a dick joke.
