Nick’s mouth pulled into the smuggest grin I had seen all night as he shoved himself back into his pants. “And that is why you weren’t ready for both of them.”
I glared at him through half-lidded eyes. “You could have warned me.”
“You called three demon names in the middle of sex. I figured you were committed to discovery.”
Luc pressed a soft kiss to my mouth while the swollen base held us together. He shifted only slightly beneath me, enough to make pressure drag through my pussy and rip another moan out of me.
I clutched his shoulders. “Do that again.”
His expression warmed with something that looked far too pleased as he rocked his hips upward, his knot pushing deeper inside me. Fuck, that felt good.
Zel dropped onto the rug beside us, his own body slowly shifting back toward human. “You’ve seriously never seen a knot before?”
I looked over at him. “Does it look like I know what the fuck is happening?”
“Fair.” He gestured lazily toward where Luc was still locked inside me. “It swells after we come when we’re in that form. Keeps you connected for a while.”
“That sounds wildly inconvenient.”
Luc shifted beneath me again, and the knot dragged over something inside me that made my eyes roll back before I could finish pretending I had a point.
Zel grinned as he leaned forward and ran his nose along my cheek. “Still inconvenient?”
Nick laughed while Luc adjusted himself beneath me again, his hands settling at my waist to keep me balanced. The movement made the knot press inside of me differently, and I gave one experimental rock of my hips before a small gasp slipped out.
“What exactly were you expecting when you called our names?” Nick asked as he lowered himself onto the couch. “You couldn’t possibly have thought this was going to go normally.”
I managed a tired shrug. “I was curious. Nothing ever fun happens when I call an angel’s name.”
Luc brushed damp braids away from my face. “And how are you feeling now, sweetheart?”
That made me frown. “You don’t usually call me that. Why did you…?”
His brows pulled together like the question confused him more than anything else I had said. “Because I wanted to.” His hand moved slowly along my side, gentler now that the frantic edge had passed. “Whatever Heaven taught you, sex doesn’t mean we stop caring the second we come. Demons mate. We build homes. We take care of people we love. Some of us are assholes while doing it, but that doesn’t make the care fake.”
I didn’t know what to do with the gentleness. With Domiel, sex had ended when he did. There had been no lingering hands, no checking whether I was okay, no one smoothing my hair like I was something worth holding after they got what they wanted.
A tear slipped down my cheek before I could stop it. Nick was beside me first, Wrath disappearing beneath sudden alarm as he crouched near my shoulder. “What happened?”
Zel dropped down on my other side, reaching for me before stopping himself when he saw my face. “Angel?”
I looked from Nick’s panicked expression to Zel’s worried one, then down at the fact that I was still very much locked onto Luc’s cock. A laugh escaped me.
Nick blinked. “What?”
That only made it worse. Between their terrifying demon forms, the fact that I was still stuck to Luc by his dick, and the terrible life I had somehow considered normal until a few days ago, something inside me cracked. I started laughing so hard that tears spilled faster, my stomach aching while Luc tried not to move beneath me.
“Ari,” Zel said cautiously, his tail winding around my ankle. “Are you actually okay?”
“I think so.” I wiped at my face and immediately started laughing again when Nick looked even more worried. “I just realized my entire life was fucked up while sitting on Lucifer’s knot.”
Nick stared at me for a beat before his mouth twitched. “That is objectively a weird time to have an emotional breakthrough.”
The plug still inside me suddenly became impossible to ignore. I shifted carefully and reached back, but Zel caught my wrist. “Let me.” He eased it free slowly, giving me time to adjust before setting it aside. “You scared the shit out of me.”
Luc stayed buried inside me while his knot slowly softened, one hand moving lazily over my back as I just lazily rocked myself over his knot. “I’m sorry. I’m still learning I’m allowed to enjoy all this.” I braced myself on his chest. “Like really enjoy it. Which reminds me.” I glanced over at Zel. “You promised me something earlier.”
His attention sharpened immediately. “Which thing?”
