It’s thick.
Very thick.
“I don’t like this.”
He unlocks it.
“Don’t worry, princesa. You’re not getting locked in here.”
“That wasn’t comforting.”
“It’s a panic room.”
I blink. “A panic room?”
He opens the door.
The room is huge. One wall is covered in monitors, each showing a different part of the estate. Gates. Gardens. Hallways. The driveway. The perimeter beyond the walls.
“This is the entire property?”
“Most of it.”
He sits at the console. “Marisol said an hour ago.”
Luciano starts moving through footage. I stand behind him, watching people cross the screens backward as he rewinds through the afternoon.
Guests return to tables. Cars reverse toward the estate. Staff carry trays back inside.
Then—
“There.”
Valentina walks across one of the exterior cameras near the side of the house.
“That’s her.”
Luciano stops rewinding.
We watch.
Valentina crosses toward a dark car parked beyond the main flow of departing guests.
Someone is standing beside it.
My stomach drops. “Tiago?”
Luciano goes completely still.
On the screen, Valentina reaches him.
She says something I can’t hear.
I lean closer.
She’s talking to him.
She looks annoyed. Confused about whatever he’s saying to her.
