“Our closet.”
“That doesn’t create additional shelves.”
“I’ll build more.”
I look over my shoulder at him. “Why would you buy me this many?”
Luciano’s attention is on my face instead of the shoes.
“Because you light up like that whenever you see them.”
My smile widens despite my attempt to appear reasonable. I lift a pair of gold heels from the nearest box.
“Oh my God. They’re gorgeous.”
“I know.”
I smile and return them carefully to the box before the fabric draws me back.
There are enough bolts here to create an entire collection.
“All of this has to go to Elena Hope.”
“No.”
I turn toward him. “What?”
“These are for the house. For when you work here.”
I stare at the overflowing table. “Luciano, this is thousands of dollars in fabric.”
“Yes.” He looks entirely unbothered. “These are for home. The ones I had delivered to Elena Hope yesterday are for the fashion house.”
“Shut up.”
He smiles. “Happy birthday.”
I make a sound that is embarrassingly close to a squeal and throw my arms around him.
Luciano catches me easily, his hands settling around my waist as I kiss him.
“You’re ridiculous,” I tell him before releasing him and continuing to explore.
There’s no real theme beyond everything I’ve ever wanted. Things I pointed at once and forgot. Things he didn’t.
He remembered all of it.
“This is ridiculous,” I say.
“Is that a complaint?”
“No. It’s perfect.”
I turn slowly, trying to take everything in, and notice the clothing rack positioned near the entrance to the hall.
At least thirty dresses hang from it.
“Oh my God.” I walk toward them. “You bought me dresses too?”
