“You understand design better than I do.”
“That’s the nicest thing you’ve ever said to me.”
“It isn’t.”
“It’s close.”
“I like this arrangement.”
“I assumed you would.”
My attention returns to the woman on the cross.
“What if I don’t know whether I want a permanent one yet?”
“Then we don’t make anything permanent.” Luciano turns me toward him. “You can wear one during a scene. See how it feels. Decide what it means to you before we make it mean anything else.”
“And if I like it?”
“Then we design yours.”
Together.
A collar made for me. One I help create. Something that belongs to us because I chose it.
The idea sends warmth curling through my stomach.
Luciano’s hand slides to the back of my neck.
“But you don’t need a collar to belong to me.” His thumb presses beneath my jaw. “You already do.”
I look down at the diamond on my finger.
“That’s true.”
My eyes return to the black leather circling the woman’s throat.
“I want to play with one though.”
Luciano goes very still. “Now?”
“Definitely now.”
His gaze travels over me, lingering on the glittering straps crossing my body before shifting toward my back.
“Turn around.”
“Here?”
“I want to see something.”
I turn, giving him my back.
His fingertips trace the line of tiny black hooks running down my spine. He catches one gently and tests it without opening it.
“How securely did you attach these?”
I look at him over my shoulder. “They’re reinforced.”
