There is no amusement in his face now.
My argument dies.
“Fine.”
He kisses my temple.
I apologize to Bianca before we reach the SUV. “I’m so sorry. This is insane.”
“It’s fine.”
Rodrigo opens the rear door for us.
Bianca looks at him. Then keeps looking.
“I think Rodrigo’s hot.”
Rodrigo’s face remains professionally blank.
Mine does not.
I climb into the SUV. “You’re going to be a problem.”
Chapter 60
Luciano
They took four inches off her hair.
Elena calls that a trim.
She’s wrong.
She sits on the edge of the kitchen island with her knees bracketing my hips and a bowl of berries beside her. The coconut water is still half-frozen, clinging to the fruit in a thin layer of slush.
I run my fingers through her hair again.
It ends higher against her back now. The lowlights have made the brown richer, and the entire length catches the morning light whenever she moves. Her fringe falls perfectly across her forehead.
They didn’t ruin a damn thing in that salon.
“You look so beautiful.”
Elena smiles around the blackberry I’ve just placed between her lips. “It looks exactly the same.”
“It does not.”
“It was a trim.”
“Four inches.”
Her eyebrows lift. “How do you know it was four inches?”
“I know your hair.”
I slide my hand up the back of her neck and into it again, letting the glossy strands pass slowly between my fingers.
“Your fringe is perfect.”
