Angelo’s palms hit the desk.
“Give me back my sister.”
“No.”
The word is calm.
His isn’t.
“I don’t give a fuck what happened between you two in Florida. You took Elena out of the state before I could get to her, and now you’re standing in my office acting like she belongs to you.”
“She chose me.”
“I’ll kill you right here.”
“I don’t doubt that you’ll try.”
Angelo moves around the desk.
I remain where I am.
“I don’t care that you’re Adriana’s brother,” he says. “I don’t care about the alliance. Give me my fucking sister.”
“That isn’t happening.”
“Then why are you here?”
“To find out what you want for her.”
He stops.
“What the fuck did you just say?”
“That’s how this works in your family, isn’t it? You want something in exchange for her. Tell me what it is.”
“Don’t fucking insult me.”
“I’m not insulting you.”
“You traded Adriana to me for territory, Castillo. Don’t stand there pretending you’re better than I am.”
“I’m not.”
The answer stops him for half a second.
“That’s why I know you understand the question,” I continue. “What do you want?”
“I want my sister.”
“That isn’t an option.”
His jaw clenches.
“We already have an alliance. There is nothing else I need from you.”
“Territory.”
“No.”
