“You know what I mean.”

I do.

“Do you think your new brother-in-law is going to like that?”

“I genuinely don’t care what Amato likes.”

“What does Amato think about you and Elena?”

“That’s none of your business.”

“So, not well.”

I look at him.

Rafael raises both hands. “I’m done.”

“You should have stopped before the first question.”

“You have time to box today?”

“Maybe later. I promised Elena the rest of the day.”

“Are you taking her to Elite again?”

“Maybe.”

His grin appears.

“Find something useful to do, Rafa.”

“I’m trying, but your personal life keeps becoming more interesting.”

I leave him in the conference room.

Elena’s phone rings until the call rolls to voicemail.

I wait less than a minute before calling again.

Nothing.

She warned me she wouldn’t answer, but announcing the bad behavior beforehand doesn’t make it acceptable.

I send her a message.

Answer your phone, princesa

The message delivers.

She ignores that too.

I slide into the car and rest my head against the seat as we pull away from Lucero Tower.

She’s definitely getting a consequence.

Rafael’s vehicle follows us onto the property.
